I think I'd like to eat here for lunch on our upcoming trip. Does anyone have any opinions? It will be me, DH, DS (who will be one) and my parents. My mom and I were thinking of possibly sharing something so we can get ice cream :).

Any thoughts? Thanks!

I enjoyed it. The sandwiches were huge. More than big enough to share. The ice cream was wonderful and so were the shakes and malteds. I thought the salad I ordered had too much dressing. Service was rather slow but with a smile. Overall, it was worth it.

We have always really enjoyed the Plaza Restaurant. I usually order the Philly cheesteak sandwich but our family has tried various sandwiches, side salads, and kids meals and we have always come away satisfied. The service was good, they really kept an eye on our iced teas and the kids drinks and refilled a lot without being asked to which is nice.

A sidenote of what is now a funny experience - On one visit there we were seated at a table that was VERY close to another and it was a crowded time of day. There was a couple next to us and the lady was sitting right next to me. I promise, I don't usually eavesdrop but I was so close I couldn't HELP but hear the conversation. She was in the early stages of pregnancy and she was feeling queasy. And while looking at the menu she continued to "describe" (not so quietly) her nausea with her dh. He kept telling her that she NEEDED to eat something. The waitress had to come back twice to get their order and she went into great detail to her about how she was pregnant and not feeling well. She finally decided on the tuna sandwich and when it arrived she ate a bite and started complaining to her husband that it wasn't the kind of tuna she liked and she wanted to throw up. Trust me, I HONESTLY didn't WANT to be hearing this but my family is eating so much there isn't much lunch conversation going on and so I'm making things up to talk about. The lady's poor dh is trying to eat as I was and finally said, "Go ask where the bathroom is!" She did and left. He knew she had been rather vocal and leaned over and apologized to us about it. I told him not to worry about it, as he could see I have 3 children and that hopefully the "morning sickness won't last for too long" and told him to ask for crackers which he did! Needless to say we didn't opt to stay for ice cream that day so we could get out of there before she got back from the restroom. I did feel badly for her but she had me, her dh, and the waitress all queasy I think hearing about it!;) But I still ate my Philly cheesesteak so you know it MUST have been good! :D

we love the plaza! try the tomato bisque if it is on the menu that day! yum-my! btw, great story epcotgal8! LOL:p

A great restruant and the deserts are great so be sure to save room for them. All portions are large and the CM's are very friendly and eager to please.

I love the Plaza, too. Among other things, they have a fantastic reuben. They will be closed from March 3 to March 28. I hope that doesn't impact you, scanne!

We lunched at the Plaza for the first time last month.

Excellent food, shared a turkey sandwich and milkshake with dd and we each had soup.

DS had some kin of hot chicken breast which he liked.

We will be returning!

I would eat here every time if I could. Good chicken soup, love the Tuna and the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and the milkshakes are to die for.

We ate here for the first time on our last trip and absolutely loved it! Can't wait to go back. We had a pretty good view of the afternoon parade from where we were sitting.

My husband loves the reuben and I love the club. I shared one with our niece at Christmas time. That left us room for a brownie sundae. The Special Plaza Dessert is also great - buttered pecan ice cream (3 scoops) with butterscotch and hot fudge topping, plus whipped cream and nuts.

The Plaza is our favorite place to eat in the MK. We eat there once or twice for each visit.

The Plaza Restaurant is the only restaurant that we have gone to every year for the last 20 years -- we have always had consistent food and service. A great place for a sit down lunch. Sandwiches are great.

The Plaza Restaurant is always are first stop on our first day, since we usually skip breakfast due to our morning flight. We're always super hungry when we arrive. The Plaza is a great place to fill up and soak up the Disney Magic. :D

Huge sandwiches as previously stated and not much more than a
Cheeseburger basket or similar at a counter service rest. Pretty reasonable for WDW prices.

I LOVED the chicken sandwich, and the desserts are to die for! Definitely one of our faves!

Wow! Thanks for all the great responses. I am really looking forward to trying the Plaza on my next trip!!!
