Plaza Restaurant--will not be returning

Huh...I thought that you had to go adult (with Disney dining) if you were 10 and up. You can't get child's DP for a 12 year old, you must purchase an adult DP even if your kid only nibbles at kid's meals still.

I think its crazy the waitress charged her $13.99 that's more than most of the other sandwiches on the adult menu. Sometimes they should take into consideration customer satisfaction is a factor in how they are tipped.

I doubt the wait staff gets to set the prices.

I would have had them split the meal. $13.99 grilled cheese? Ok, give me one and they'll split it.

I don't see how they can force everyone to buy a meal if you are paying cash.

I understand being frustrated with the price and dealing with kids who are picky. About all my son will eat is grilled cheeses. But at the same time, they put ages on kids menus for a reason....

I've read tons of reviews on here of adults ordering off the kids menu because they're just not that hungry. Did that change?

No. Technically the kids meals are for children ages 9 and under. So if any restaurant wants to enforce that rule, they can. It is very unusual for them to do so. I have heard that La Hacinenda does as they are not owned by Disney. But I have never heard of anyone at a Disney restaurant, and paying out of pocket, being forced to order off of the adult menu when they wanted to order of of the kids menu.

Ive also had questionable service at the plaza - on one of my visits over the summer, we let our waitress know that we were cast members. she pretty much ignored us for the rest of the meal which was super annoying - we still wanted a full meal and she has a guaranteed tip from us when we use our discount, and I always tip more for good service! Oh well. I guess if you return clarify about the price. Unfortunate and strange situation.

We love eating at the Plaza even though I agree the service is not always the best.

Mostly we've had success ordering off the kids menu at times. The only place I ever encountered a problem was Tuttos which I know is not Disney owned.

I think the important thing to do is ask your server when ordering if this is acceptable and what the price will be. Each restaurant may have a different policy.
