I've been planning our adr's for a upcoming trip, and thought this menu looked like a good spot for lunch one day? Do you need adr's for the Plaza Restaurant, how is the food , is it located on Main St. Sorry for so many questions. Hope someone can help with the answers.

I really like the Plaza. They have really good sandwhiches and it is a nice option for table service that isn't too expensive. I've never made an ADR for the Plaza, but you can. It is a small place, not many tables, but I've still be able to just walk up and put our name in. A couple times we were seated right away or at the most we had a 30 minute wait. But we go off season and usually eat outside of the lunch hour. I don't know what happens if you show up there at 12 noon in July. I do recommend it though.

The Plaza Restaurant is located at the end of Main street, next to the Main Street Ice Cream Parlor, across the street from Casey's. It has a lovely view of Cindy's Castle. The restaurant is a smaller place, which cuts down on the noise and craziness. Reminds me of an old fashioned ice cream parlor with brass fixtures and lots of mirrors.

Wait times can be hit or miss. Some days you can be seated right away others you may wait 25 minutes. I would make an adr just in case it is slammed, you will have priority over walkup guests.

The food is simple fare-hot & cold sandwiches, a salad choice and of course delicious shakes and desserts. The reuben is my favorite, but the burger, club and Philly cheesesteak are good as well. The German potato salad is a nice change from the normal French fries as well. I am a chocoholic-so a chocolate milkshake is a must for me. Ice cold and creamy-the shake is huge and you get the rest in the metal cup. Its always a favorite stop of ours-it is cool and relaxing. :goodvibes

I have seen walkup guests turned away from the Plaza, when there were no available times left.

9 years ago I could walk up to the Plaza and be seated. Not so much anymore. I'd make the ADR just in case. This is such a pretty spot to dine. The sandwiches are simple and tasty and the ice cream is delicious. The cheesesteak with a chocolate milkshake is one of the best meals on property in my opinion.

We loved our meal at The Plaza!:thumbsup2 After being on the DDP and eating many "big" dinners, it was awesome to have a lighter meal! The sandwiches were fantastic and my DH loved the german potato salad. Great desserts as well! Also, it was nice and quiet which is a change of pace for the TS restraunts. Go for it and enjoy!:goodvibes

We ate at the Plaza on 3/11 and was suprisingly impressed! It's located right between the tomorrowland terrace and mainstreet, right behind those yellow umbrella wire table and chairs.

I was surpised at how small it really is and can see why ADRs are needed. We made ours about a month before our trip and only 1 time slot was available.

I was disapointed with the seating layout and our table was WAY too close to our neighbors. I think it was just our table though as I didn't notice any other issues with others. We were seated in the "green house" section but it provided an amazing view of Cinderella's castle while we ate!

Food and service was great but it was a little busier/louder than I was exepcting. Overall though I'd be happy to return and felt it was a nice upgrade compared to the CS fare at the parks without the headache and hassle of a full TS.

The Plaza over the last couple of years has become one of our MUST DOS every trip (along with LeCellier and Crystal Palace). My DH loves the reuben and I am fond of the cheeseburger and the club sandwich. The shakes are to die for, and the sundaes...oh, my the sundaes! I'm making myself hungry. I would made an ADR. We were there in September for free dining (as we will be this year) with a 4:30 reservation and they were turning people away.

We almost always eat at the Plaza! I love their burgers and my mom always tries different kinds of sandwiches. It's pretty & quaint, and a relaxing place to have lunch. Last year we made an ADR for Plaza, then ended up canceling another ADR, and went back to Plaza since we were on DDP and needed another TS meal. That time we had about a 45 minute wait and just stuck around the Main Street Area (this was in June), but I would probably go ahead and book, just to be on the safe side :thumbsup2

Thank you everybody for your response. typhoonlagooner, I loved your pictures. We will definately be ordering the shakes when we go.

You do not need ADR's on most days. Just stop by the restaurant when you enter the park in the morning and get an ADR for lunch that day. We do this on almost every trip.

I love the Plaza because of the atmosphere and yummy, simple food. The atmosphere is simple inside, but it's cheery and old-fashioned, just like Main Street! :goodvibes
I think their sandwiches are delicious! We've always had good service here and the two times that I've eaten here, we have not needed ADR's. We just went during a time when most people don't eat. Like one time we went for lunch at 2:30 and one time we had an early dinner at 4. We were sat in a matter of minutes.

What options do you have with DDP in regards to beverages and desserts?

Most people think that the Plaza is a waste of a TS credit because the prices are relatively low. I would (and have) pay out of pocket.

DH and I love the Plaza. I think it is the one restaurant at WDW that we have eaten at every trip. My favorite is the tuna sandwich with german potato salad. I can't wait! Our ADR is on April 28.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

We had lunch there last April. We walked up and were seated immediately. There were only 2 of us that trip though. The previous December we had 6 in our group and tried to walk up for dinner, and they were completely booked.

We enjoyed our sandwiches there. It's a nice place to sit down away from the hustle and bustle. It's not too expensive, so I wouldn't use a dining plan credit for it, I'd pay OOP instead.

Are the hamburgers better at the Plaza compared to other MK places. The Plaza charges $11.49 for the hamburger with fries, and the other places charge $7.59 with fries. DD21 like hamburgers more than sandwiches.
