Plaza Point, an All-New Holiday Store, Coming Soon to Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park

I’m excited to tell you about a very special new shop opening soon at Disneyland park! It’s an all-new holiday store called Plaza Point, coming to the corner of Main Street, U.S.A., and East Plaza Street.

Today we have Dawn Keehne, Resort Enhancement Manager sharing some of the store details and providing you with a sneak peek of the skilled artistry that’s underway in preparation for opening day.

This Victorian-era space will envelop you in the warmth of the holidays as soon as you step into the wood-paneled space decorated with garlands, nutcrackers and festive décor! Careful observers will notice displays that reflect seasonal holidays around the world and our ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Once the store opens, you’ll see a variety of holiday goods available to purchase for yourself or as gifts for family and friends including ornaments, housewares, linens and accessories. And you’ll want to visit throughout the year because other holidays like Hanukkah, Lunar New Year, Spring and Easter, and Fall and Halloween will be reflected in merchandise and store decor at appropriate times, along with Christmas-themed merchandise year-round.

Here’s also a first look at some of the inspirational pieces and décor you may see during the year:

Stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog to learn more about this new holiday store!

I think this is a great use of that space. It'll certainly get more foot traffic than the Photo Shop when new holiday related merchandise is released throughout the year.

But what I really wonder is... does anyone else think that this means the Fantasyland holiday shop will be converted into something else? Like the long-suggested queue/Lightning Lane for Peter Pan?

I had this same thought! Way to kill two birds with one stone, Disney…

I cringe to think about what the standby wait for PP will be if they add Lightning Lane, but there’s certainly a demand for it. I guess at least we can feel virtuous when we suck it up and wait, knowing we’re “saving” money by standing in line. 🤷‍♀️

.... I need to slow down when I read thread titles. I was trying to figure out (1) what PIZZA Point was, (2) why it was on Main Street, (3) where the heck there was a pizza place on Main Street, and (4) what the heck a Pizza Holiday Shoppe would entail.

Thanks for the unintended giggle on my Monday-ish Monday morning!

Love this! Can’t wait to see all of the great theming and artwork they have put into opening this location. Would love to see unique holiday merchandise.

Nope. Ride capacity isn't there.
I think it’ll have to change to something else. Why have a new holiday shop on Main Street, plus a small holiday shop close by in fantasyland?

It would be lame if they just convert it into general merchandise. I doubt they bring back the sword & armor shop, but I suppose it’s possible.

And it was rumored way back when that the shop would be converted into a queue area for Peter Pan in order to get the queue off of the main walkway. They could do that even if they don’t add a lightning lane.

Regardless, I’d think the fantasyland holiday shop will be changed to something else.

I like the idea, but hate the name. Reminds me of Harbor Pointe, and Harbor House, the old admin building, etc. Plus, the name just doesn't seem to fit in an 1890's theme. As for the existing Castle Shop, Disney has wanted a "Villains Shop" for a very long time, and that's one of the rumors floating around.

That’s why they added the extra “pe” to the end of shop! To give it that old-timey vibe! 😉

A Villain-themed shop isn’t the worse idea. That’s sort of the vibe of Pieces of Eight, so a similar thing could work in Fantasyland around those villains. It would be a little strange being one of the first things you see entering the castle.

I’m just happy any time they give a space a specific, unique identity. It would have been so easy to turn the Photo Shop into just “more floor space”, but now at least it has an identity and a specific purpose.

Ooh, this! It would be so nice if they could redo the queue indoors more like it is at WDW. I think PP has the worst queue of all. Sadly I think more likely they'll make it a different shop to bring in $$ versus adding a convenience for those who have already paid.

I am looking forward to the holiday shop though!

True, but it IS the back side of the castle, and they DID have that odd heraldry shop in there for a good while (which really wouldn't have been that weird 20-30 years ago when every single shop wasn't stuffed full of IP, especially in New Orleans Square).

My main no was in regards to it changing to a Lightening Lane. Will the shop type change? We have had a holiday shop on Main Street for years when they ADDED this one after evicting the Heraldry Shop. This one will stay for a while then change into what even new Fantasy based store is needed. (Think previously Tangled and Frozen...)
