Plaza or Harbour House

On our first day at MK I have early lunch reservations for BOG at 10:30-11am.

I have a reservation in place at around 5pm for The Plaza Restaurant; we are using the DDP. I wonder if we should either cancel the reservation for the Plaza and go with a QS at Harbour House instead or just stay with the reservation and pay out-of-pocket and use the TS credit for other higher value dinners.

Is the atmosphere worth it at the Plaza? Will it be easier to have a reservation for dinner than to fight potential dinner crowds at Harbour House?

Will it be longer at a sit down dinner at the Plaza or faster at CHH despite crowd levels? Better to have flexibility with dinner times as opposed to being locked into 2 reservations this day?

We will most likely be eating lunch at Harbour House on our last day at MK.

I would stay with your ADR at the Plaza. With a hungry family, wouldn't like to take chances on wait times without one. Plaza serves all the ice cream from the main street ice cream parlor, so it's a wonderful way to get those treats without standing in line there tooWe always do one meal at Plaza every trip--usually time it to end close to fireworks or parade because you're in a perfect location. Food is good and very friendly service. When in doubt, don't chance it to a walk in.

I personally wouldn't use a TS credit at Plaza, I would save it for a higher dollar meal. (I'm all about squeezing every bit on monetary value out of my dining credits.) I can't say I would necessarily pay out-of-pocket for it either, though.

You mention you will be hitting Columbia Harbor House later in your trip. Are there any other CS restaurants in MK you would be willing to try for dinner that night?

The meals at The Plaza are slightly cheaper than other TS restaurants, so you won't get quite as much value out of your DDP. You might consider paying OOP. I enjoyed the food there, particularly the ice cream, so I do recommend keeping your ADR, especially if you are going to CHH later in your trip.

I found the service fairly quick for a TS. The atmosphere inside is nothing too special, since it is quite a small restaurant. Part of the appeal of The Plaza is the view of the castle while you eat. Unfortunately, it is partly obscured by construction walls right now.

There aren't many CS restaurants with items that our family can eat due to dietary restrictions; BOG and CHH are the two that work best for us.
