Plaza or Crystal Palace?

So, for November 19th, we will be attending the Christmas Party at the MK and wanted to eat dinner there about 5pm before the party kicks off. We tried to score BOG reservations and that just wasn't happening (haven't totally given up hope but will need some luck). I currently have Crystal Palace booked for 5:00pm. Also available at that time is the Plaza Resteraunt. We will be 5 adults and one 4 year old. The four year old is kind of meh towards Winnie the Pooh but might still enjoy the character interaction. Is there anything at The Plaza that makes it more special than Crystal Palace?

Which resteraunt would you choose?

Personally speaking, i love the Plaza and made our Plaza reservations over Crystal Palace. The burgers, shakes and ice cream sundaes are great. And again IMO, you'll have plenty time to meet the characters at the MVMCP

the restroom for the plaza is outside, it isn't for the restaurant, it is just the one outside nearest the Plaza so that was a deal breaker for us with a 4 year old. I vote for CP b/c also they have soft serve!

Look at the menus and see what appeals more to your family.

Yep, I did that. The one thing that was in the con column for me for the Plaza is that it looks like mostly sandwiches and salads there. That would be fine for lunch but not sure about dinner. Although a buffet can be a crap shoot as well depending on the quality of the food but the selection would be better.

Even adults might want to know that, Thanks! Before I go in there for lunch (I've got my first ADR coming up there), I'll use the restrooms.

I love the Plaza. We went our first year and the mayor of Main Street announced our 4-year-old's birthday and called it his day. Gave us a FP for any ride in the park.

Crystal Palace - kids care nothing about Pooh and the food is almost as bad as Chef Mickey's and I put Chef Mickey's at the bottom of the totem pole.

I always go to the Plaza. Crystal Palace wouldn't be a consideration for most if it wasn't for that great location.

Yikes! That is a super tough choice. I love both.

Crystal Palace has the characters your child will love. It also has a lot of good food, which may be the downfall. Eating a big meal, then leaving only to walk about 10 miles is not the greatest feeling. I LOVE the plaza just for this reason. The food is really good andnot too heavy, so you can leave without feeling like renting a scooter for the rest of the evening!

Crystal Palace! It's best for kids and has a ton of food choices, although don't expect a gourmet meal, but it should satisfy any craving. Plaza, on the other hand, has a rather limited menu and small dining area, but should you choose to eat there, get the sundae!

You seem to be answering your own question by mentioning that you'd prefer a more substantial dinner......

You can have a bigger meal at Crystal Palace. The food is not compelling and Pooh may not be a 4 y.o favorite.

or, You can consider a larger or later lunch and then a lighter meal at the Plaza.

If it helps your calculus, as I recall, Disney serves cookies and hot chocolate as part of the Christmas party.

Maybe a lighter dinner would be warranted, then again, Plaza has ice cream.

As my dad would say, "Six of one, half dozen the other."

or, Flip a coin.
