Plaza @ MK and DDP

DH and I have an ADR for lunch @ Plaza and will be using DDP. I've read posts about Plaza not being good for DDP. Is that just because of the prices, or is the food and/or service not that great?

DH and I love the Plaza, we eat there every trip. Its a refreshing break from the pace of MK. The food is good - nothing fancy. Never had a problem with the service. But on our last two trips we have had free dining and we pay OOP at the Plaza. A meal there might cost 12 to 15 dollars and we would rather save our TS credits for places that the meals would cost 25 to 40 dollars or more.

I would say it's because of the prices. We also have a lunch ADR for the Plaza, but we plan to pay OOP, seeing we will be using 2 extra TS meals. I prefer TS over CS, so will just pay OOP for the 2 least expensive ones.

As long is it's not service/food related. We usually eat a light breakfast, sit-down lunch, and pretty much just graze on snacks the rest of the day, so I'm OK with using a TS credit there.

We have eaten at the Plaza a number of times and we love it. The food is always good and the service has been wonderful. It is a sandwich and ice cream place. It is not that expensive compared to other TS places. People who are trying to get the most out of the TS credit may feel they could get a better value for the money at a more expensive place.

You should try it, they have really great burgers, not the typical fast food ones.

We did not enjoy our meal at the Plaza in December but I seem to be in the minority, so I will give them another try on the next trip. The food was ok but not great, and the service was mediocre at best. Our server never smiled & seemed grumpy. She was totally annoyed that DS5 wanted to order himself but was slow at it, she said "Mom could you please order for him?" Then DS specifically ordered dessert with no whipped cream. When she brought it out with whipped cream & I nicely pointed out that we ordered it without she didn't even say a word, grabbed it back, turned around abrubtly & stormed back to the kitchen. She brought the new one promptly, slapped it down & said "Ok?" in what I took as a rude tone. We were also seated right on top of an older couple without kids (tables are VERY close together) that seemed to be bothered by everything & complained non-stop. So I think the last 2 things ruined our meal there, not actually the food!

Was the lady older and heavy set?

She was older than me, I'd guess she was anywhere from 45-55, but not heavy. Just grumpy, she must have been having a bad day (I hope anyway, I hope she's not always like that!)
