So its getting down to the wire and now family wants to do a character bfast. If I can even get in to one of these, I would love opinions on which is better for breakfast. Thanks!:surfweb:

We have been to all of them and my family prefers Goofy's Kitchen!
We found the variety of food to be the best at Goofy's and we also really like the location. It is the only location that is specifically for a character meal that you cannot have a meal in unless it is a character meal.

We had heard lots of great things about the Plaza Inn but we were really not impressed with the food. We went a few years back so maybe it has changed but I found that the selection was much more limited than at Goofy's kitchen. We also didn't like that unlike most buffets where you take it yourself, a lot of the hot food was put on your plate by someone behind the counter.

One thing I did find is that my family are not big eaters in the morning so we mostly have cereal and muffins on vacation and eat a bigger lunch and usually a sit down dinner. Therefore, although the dinner at Goofy's Kitchen was more expensive than the brunch, we preferred the dinner which we thought was really good. For us, we always spend a lot on dinner, so it was more economical. We also found that in the morning we felt more rushed to get to Disneyland but for the dinner, everyone was hungry and tired and ready to sit and relax! Just my experience, though!

This is great to hear. My family is similar to yours and we too decided to do dinner at Goofy's instead of breakfast. Can't wait!!

I would chose the Plaza Inn over GK anyday! We have done both, GK, my kids hardly ate anything other than cereal, the food there was just too "weird" for them. At M&F they ate cereal but they also chose pastries, fruit, eggs and other things to eat. At GK we saw 3 or 4 characters, hardly ANY characters stopped at our table. At M&F we saw 10+ and they came back repeatedly to hang out with us! The food at GK is more "gourmet" than at M&F but honestly, we prefer simpler bfast foods, add that to the characters we saw and M&F is a win/win for us.

thanks for the input! After much consideration and further reading on these boards, we decided to skip the character part and just do Carnation Cafe!! Since our villa has a full kitchen it is likely we will be eating in each morning and they just didn't want a Disney trip without Mickey Waffles..haha. This saves some cash which we can use on dinner especially because, as others posted on here as well, our kids aren't big breakfast eaters to begin with. The good news is even though it is supposed to be spring break while we are there, we were able to get ADR with no problem. :confused3

If you want a Mickey mouse shaped breakfast, there are Mickey Mouse pancakes at the Riverbelle Terrace in Adventureland/New Orleans. It's not priority seating so you could just go in and have breakfast.

The character breakfast as soooo worth the splurge! We did Goofy's kitchen - there were fewer characters but my daughter loved singing and banging pots with Goofy. We just did Minnie and Friends a few weeks a go and there are tonnes of characters! The breakfast itself was nothing special, but having so many characters come by was a great way to get photo ops and autographs without having to wait in the many different lines. At one time my youngest had Pinocchio, Jepetto and Tigger all giving her attention at once. They are expensive but definitely worth saving money in other areas to go.

We have done Goofy's twice and I have not been impressed. We are going to do plaza Inn this next trip I have heard good things.

I agree that character meals are so worth it! We are WDW vets and have done all the character meals there at least once and even the pirate one at Vero Beach. My dds are 14 and nearly 9 now and it saddens me that they aren't a priority with them anymore. :sad2: however I am thinking maybe its just this first trip to DL that they aren't insisting on a character meal as everything is new to them? We are doing lunch at Blue Bayou for the experience though.:yay:

I don't really like the breakfasts at all. Goofy's for dinner is awesome!! The plaza's food is not very good. Plus you have to wait in long lines to be served just like in counter service. Goofy's is a buffet to you have you food quick and are back to your table and don't miss much activity at your table. :)
