Playstation 2 or Xbox???

Thinking of getting one for Fathers Day for DH.....which one should we buy all you pro gamers???? he likes sports games most too

SSB finally bought one this past weekend for time with the kiddos... and decided on XBox. Love it, thus far!!!! With the HD-TV hook up, really WILD how great the graphics are.

we've always been nintendo people, but we ended up buying a ps2 recently b/c there are so many games that are made for it that aren't released on the other systems, or aren't released for the other systems until later.

i'm also not a big fan of microsoft - why support them when you don't have to?

I have both XB and PS2 (as well as GameCube). Xbox is really the more 'hardcore gamer' system. PS2 has a lot more games (but it also has a lot more crap as well). I find myself playing XB more often than my PS2...namely for games like Halo, MotoGP and Oddworld. However, PS2 has Kingdom Hearts (the best Disney themed game ever released). I say you get them both

We have both, the older DS (15) and DH like XBox better, they have better graphics and more intense games. The younger DS (9) tends to stick with PS2, he's not into the intense action games and he likes the variety he can find in the video store to rent for PS2. If your DH likes to play sports games, definitely XBox, the sports graphics are unbelievably lifelike.

I bought the XBox for DS for Christmas 2001. I created a monster! My goodness-he and all his buds became addicted,and he has bought all the peripherals to play online. He loves his XBox!!

Playstation 2 has more games and it is so nice to have an extra "DVD" player in the house to watch movies.

No, I don't know why. But DH researched them thoroughly and came to the conclusion that the XBOX is better. He's had his for a year, and always took it to a friend's house to play, despite the fact that the friend had a PS2. The friend just got an XBOX for his anniversary, which means ours can stay at home!

I've been told that Halo, which is only available on the XBOX, is the "best game ever."

BTW, snowball, the XBOX is a DVD player, too. I yell at DH every time he takes it away from me, as at the moment, it's our ONLY DVD player!

I vote X-Box but I'm a little partial to Microsoft. My dh loves playing Halo with his friends with the online talking thingy (can you tell I'm not technical).

And of course, Halo 2 is coming out soon and it looks even better than the original. The graphics were amazing.

X-box, since I get to play both systems all day (ya I know, some job huh?) The graphics are better, and the reason it has less games, is because its a newer system, but I am seeing new games every day, lots of sports one too. Have fun!
