Has anyone out there had any experience with getting a refund for airfare which has gone down in price since you purchased the tickets? Particularly through expedia.com?

Our RT airfare from Seattle to Orlando on Continental just went down about $20 per ticket in less than a week's time. From $194 pp RT to $177(and $146 if we could tweak our itinerary, not possible). That's great, but in talking to the Expedia people tonight, I must send the paper tickets back to them and they will reissue new tickets at the lower price and then credit the difference to my account. Hopefully the price keeps going down, but even so I think $177 RT from Seattle to Orlando is a pretty good price.

Just wondering how it all worked for those of you who might have done the same thing. There must be somebody out there who is a penny pincher like me. Thanks in advance!

Last Nov we flew Delta from Dulles to Orlando and about a month earlier they had a price decrease, so I called the airlines directly, changed to the lower price, and then I had 1 day to take my paper tickets into a Delta desk at the airport to get a voucher. Worked great, and by the way, the lady at the counter just put the difference back on our credit card, even though the Delta lady on the phone said we could only get a voucher. I did not complain.

when you get your tkts thru a TA you are supposed to go back thru that TA to get the refund processed. the airlines might take it and do it but its best if you go thru Expedia to get it done. when you send them your paper tkts back to so it I suggest you send it to them with the delivery confirmation so that you know when they got it. or send it to them with a return receipt.
