PLaying in fountains in the parks

How do you deal with fountain play then the rest of the day?

Last trip we just avoided the fountains but now DS3 will want to jump in them... just wear a swim trunks? just bring an extra set of clothes and take turns with them drying atop the stroller?

We just let him play in them and then dry off in the sun, just like you would on the water rides. We don't ever do a swimsuit or a change of clothes or anything like that. He doesn't mind being wet for a bit until he drys out. It helps keep him cool!

My dd 3, will wear a tankini under her clothes, and we still take another set of clothes for her.

I would hate for her to be wearing wet clothes, especially in those freezing AC rides, shops and restaurants.

We bring a stroller, so we use the basket to place the change of clothes.

Our plan is that we have an early AM ADR for breakfast at CP, that's the only time they MUST keep their clothes dry!
After that we will have spare clothes in a ziploc baggie for them for after they are done in the fountains and their wet clothes will go into that baggie afterwards.
I just don't want them getting rashes or chafing from wearing wet clothes, plus like the one other poster said, going into AC buildings while wet could lead to all kinds of fun illnesses that we don't want!

My kids didn't mind getting their clothing wet, but I had to go and buy them new socks after an hour in the Pooh playground

My DD saw some fountains like that in the local zoo, and told me those kids shouldn't being playing in the water. haha so we don't have too much of a problem. She also doesnt like getting her clothes wet. My little one on the other hand.... We're going to try to avoid them one more time, and distract if needed. We'll be there in Nov, so it will be cooler, and hopefully not all of them will be on.

It's never been a problem for us. With all that Florida sunshine, he's always dry really fast. We always wear sandals and lightweight stuff that drys quickly, anyway.

We do the same thing that some others have posted - take spare clothes and let them dry on push bar of the stroller and we usually take his shoes off so that they don't get soaked. I know that in the sunshine they dry pretty quick but I would rather him have on dry clothes so that he's not getting the stroller or seats on a ride wet. Just my opinion.

Carrying a change of clothes in a ziplock takes up hardly any room, but the comfort of knowing your are prepared -- priceless! Just put the wet clothes in the ziplock and proceed. To prevent slipping and protect feet, have them wear sandals that are okay to get wet -- they will dry quickly. Most of all, have fun and watch out for those fountains yourself -- will go right up your shorts!

I have never brough bathing suits or change of clothing for my dd. It is usually 90+ degrees when we go and she is dry within a half hour. Heck, DH and I am usually in there with her - it feels good. She is always in waterproof sandals and light cotton clothes so there isn't an issue.

There are so many rides that YOU can get wet on, there is no way I would pack clothes for everyone in the family and hope they don't get wet again for the rest of the day. That is what's fun - getting soaked on Kali Rapids or Splash Mountain and walking around in the sun and drying off only to want to go back on the ride again. It is the same thing with the kids. Once they dry off, they want to get wet again and its back to the fountains.

There are so many water fountains in MK (Ariels' Grotto, Pooh's Play Corner, Donald's Boat, the Tiki Fountains and of course the bridge to Splash) there is no way you can contain your kid for one splash section, change his clothes and then say no more. NO FUN MOM!!!

Mine never wear sandals in the park, it would be begging for accidents and very sore feet for my kids. If I know my guys will be going on wet rides/fountains, I try to put them in swim trunks and t-shirts for the day. The swim trunks will dry pretty quickly and they're more comfortable when they are wet. I also bring a dry set of socks for them, as they do get pretty miserable (and blister) with wet socks on.
DD, I typically bring a whole set of clothes. She doesn't mind 'wet', and we wouldn't have to change her, but she doesn't tollerate soaked.
One of my main Disney tips is that I toss a towel or two into our backpack. Helps to dry people off if we need to, plus it's nice to sit on for parades.

When we took our girls in 12/04, I tried to avoid letting my then 2 and 4 yr old DD's from going in the DTD fountains when we first got there... but by the time we were leaving, I caved and let them go wild-we were on vacation after all...... they got soaked. I didn't have a change of clothes. We boarded the bus for the looooooooooooooooooooooooooong ride back to the Beach Club (it stopped at DTD west side, Typhoon Lagoon, BWI, Swan, Dolphin, Yacht, and then BC... it was super chilly on the bus and my girls were so uncomfortable!

I thought ahead for our MK day when we'd be at Toontown... I packed their swimsuits and let them go and have a blast in the water fountains..... (changed them prior to the splashing fun in the restroom) Afterwards, I just took them back into the bathroom to change them back into their clothes.

For our upcoming trip, I'll either have them wear the swimsuits under their clothes or just pack a change of clothes so they don't miss out on the fun!!!
