So how bad is Playhouse Disney for adults? I know we will prob have to see this twice while at MGM fo DD...just thinking if maybe we should get FP or a child swap pass for one of us while the other takes DD to see the show. Also can anyone tell me who all is at Playhouse Disney?

I find Playhouse Disney rather enjoyable. Everyone sits on the floor ... there are no chairs. The kids get up and dance around. Personally, I'd go in each time that you see the show.

My dd is 5 now and she still loves the show as well does my 2yoa ds.

There is no FP for the show.

It is not that bad. In fact, I think it is pretty cute. But then again, I am not watching the show. I am to busy watching my DS's reaction :goodvibes . And to me, that is worth anything the show can dish out. :rotfl2:

The only thing I dont like is sitting on the floor. It is hard for my old bones to get up after the show. That and, people sit practically ON TOP of you if you dont give yourself enough breathing room.

Okay, first I need to give some background. As an undergrad, I did not have classes in the morning, just after 1pm. Somehow, I started watching "Bear in the Big Blue House." I was 20. I knew some of the songs and everything. I have no kids. As a matter of fact, I was stil living at home at the time.

So, when Playhouse Disney first opened at MGM, I had to see it. I think it was January 2003. My sister saw it with me, and we sat on the floor with everyone else. I gotta tell you, it was a special moment....I love to bug my sister with the "Goodbye" song, and when Bear and Luna sang it in the show and I sang along with the 3 and 4 year olds, my sister was mortified.

If I can't share this with you folks, I don't know who I can share it with :teeth:

FYI, there are two or three benches at the sides of the theater if you aren't comfortable sitting on the floor. Just try to be one of the first people in line (although most people have kids and want to sit near the stage, better to get there early and be sure). When I dragged my mom on it in May 2003, she had to sit on the bench because she has bad back and neck problems, and she really enjoyed herself.

We don't think it is that bad. We enjoy taking the kids there and seeing their enjoyment at the different scenes. It could be a lot worse than it is. We do find we have to watch where we sit on the floor because we never know what might be there with all the kids from previous shows.

Sitting on the floor was the biggest challlenge. However, I wouldn't care if it totally sucked. To see the joy on my daughters face was priceless! and I would watch it a million times to see her that happy. Listen they put up with our stuff... happily, so a few minutes with Winnie the Pooh isn't going to kill the family. She still talks about how much fun we all had (me, dh, ds12, ds15) and she was not quite 2 yet!!!!

It's actually nice for adults. Everyone is having a good time especially the kids. The harest part is sitting on the floor which is no promblem for me. My DH can't so he stands in the back and takes pictures. He enjoys it too. :thumbsup2

Anyone know what characters I can expect to see in the show? Looking forward to it as much as my kids!!

It really wasn't too bad. But I work with children and the handicapped so I always like to see what people come up with to try to entertain and educate them. Hubby and I actually had grandma and grandpa take older kids and we BOTH saw Playhouse Disney with our then 3 yr old. My only complaint was misbehaved parents. Like those who would stand in front of my child without a thought so he couldn't see, when it was totally unecessary, or not keep an eye on the own kids at all.

Its been since 2001 since we have been there and looking forward to going again so we can

I remember.....The Book of Pooh, Rolie polie olie, bear and the big blue house and stanley......not sure if they have changed it or not....someone correct me if I am wrong

If you have small children, they will love this. I was never concerned about how "bad" it would be, it's their vacation too. My kids really enjoy this... my 2 year old was really into it. My 4 year old is a little more skiddish in new situations, but still enjoyed it. I've seen it twice- once in May '04 and again in Nov '05. In Nov it was Pooh and co, Stanley, Bear and friends (of course), JoJo's circus. (They replaced Rolie Polie Olie with JoJo). It is very cute and well done.

If you time it just right you can get a FP for VOTLM before you enter PD. When you get out from the PD show it is usually time for the FP.

I have no problem sitting on the floor and watching my DD have a ball. As for characters, there are

Bear & the big blue house and his pals

Winnie the pooh and pals

Stanley

Jo Jo and Goliath.

My little boy was 18 months when he saw this show. It was one of the best parts of the trip. His reaction when he saw his favorite TV shows in real life was worth the entire trip. If that would have been the only thing we did it was worth it. Most of the adults sitting around and in front of us kept turning around and watched my little boy.

Let's not forget Jamie, the only real person in the performance. I think Jamie is what makes or breaks the show. We have seen it more times than I can remember, DD is 4 and has been 12 times and we go at least 3 times each trip. Anyway, the current rundown as of January is Jamie comes out and asks Bear and friends to come out. Then they tell three stories, Jojo, Stanley, and Pooh. We have seen many different Jamie's and there are two who really stand out as excellant. One is the boy Jamie who is in the commerecials that play on the in-room tv and the other is a girl with long brown hair. Both actively encourage the kids to get up and dance with them. Leading a train down the aisle, getting them to come up front and dance or hop like Tigger. Needless, to say, when we get a Jamie that does not actively recruit the kids, DD is very disappointed.

I agree with some of the other posters, if you have kids, it is well worth attending if only for their reaction and enjoyment. We do the Jojo cure for the hiccups whenever my DD gets them. Or she will do them to us if we get them.

When we saw it last my ds was 3.5 and my dd had just turned one. They loved it -- the baby danced and clapped the entire time. If I hadn't even looked at the stage, I would have had a wonderful time just watching my children.

I don't think it's that much of a sacrifice for parents to do things that the littlest members of the family would enjoy -- think about how many attractions they spend hanging outside with one parent or another while the rest of the family enjoys something they are too small for.

Okay so this is my first posting on this site and I need some help. I am going in June with a large group of people, all of whom are family. :grouphug:

My DD is 2 and I don't know which one of us is more excited. I know she will love this show and I am trying to find out a schedule.

Can anyone tell me what time the show starts, how long it last, etc...

This is a must see attraction on our list since my DD does the morning Mambo every morning with Bear.

It's not bad. The worst part is that my legs always fall asleep while I'm sitting on the floor - makes it difficult to leave at the end. I enjoy watching the kids having a good time. I've seen it about 4 times.

I'm so sad they got rid of Roli Polie Olie! I love that show! (So does DS.) Oh well, Jo Jo's pretty good too. lol
