Hi. I have friends who are going to WDW in late August. I'm trying to help them plan, but I don't know anything about Playhouse Disney (my DS is 17). What is the show like (as in good or bad), and how often does it run (at set times or continuously)? Thanks for any help! This is their first trip, and I don't want to give them any bad advice.

From Steve Soares' website:

Playhouse Disney - Live on Stage!
Bear in the Big Blue House gets some new Playhouse Disney friends
Grab the little ones and head for Sound Stage 5! Come journey through the storied worlds of Bear in the Big Blue House, Rolie Polie Olie, The Book of Pooh and come meet Stanley - the newest addition to Playhouse Disney - as you sing, dance and play along with the characters themselves.
22-minute shows
9:45, 10:45 & 11:45am, 12:35, 1:50, 2:40, 4:00, 4:45, 6:00 & 6:45pm
Playhouse Disney Dance Party on Wednesday from 10:00pm to 1:00am for Extra Magic Hours.

Steve updates his website each weekend with the latest showtimes, so this week's times may not be the same as they will be in late August.

We saw it last week and our DDs 5 & 3 loved it. It depends on how old the kids are but the show is on the Disney Channel everyday in our house.

DD (4) and neice (7) loved it last year and we plan to do it again with DD.

my kids love it. Having older children, it probably wouldn't be as interesting. The kids watch the shows everyday, so they know all the characters and songs with each section of the show. It is easier when they have that connection.

My DS liked it until age 7 ...he didn't want to go to it last November ... I always thought it was cute. Prior to that it was one of his favorite attractions. The kids cand stand and dance, etc. since there are no chairs ... everyone sits on the floor.

Now all my DS8 wants to do is Tower of Terror and Rockin Rollercoaster. They grow up WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too fast.

My DH took DD there on her 6th b-day (DS and I stayed at the pool) She LOVED it since she was a big fan of Bear in the Big Blue House and Rollie Pollie Ollie.

They will love it. I love it. You sit on the floor, but there is a big bench around the back, too. Even my eight year old loves it. It is one of our favorites. Actually, just about everything is our favorite, but it is one of our best favorites. You may end up going there two times. They post the times outside of the entrance. In that area, there are three attractions: Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Play House Disney Live, and the Magic of Disney Animation. I would check the times for Playhouse Disney Live. Get a fast pass for Voyage of the Little Mermaid, about an hour before the Playhouse Disney Live time. After Voyage of the Little Mermaid, you can go to the Animation attraction until it is time for the Playhouse Disney time. Here is a little tip: If you wait in the line for the Animation attraction, you first go to see a movie, then you go to the hands on exhibits. The movie is nice, it is more than just a movie; but the hands on attractions are cool. The tip is that you will see an Art of Disney store, right next to the Playhouse Disney line. Go into the store, and out the back of it is the hands on animation area. There will usually be a character area there, too. I have seen the Incredibles and Chicken Little there. I assume someone new may be there now, as its been about ten months since my last trip. There is also an area where you get to draw characters; which you should not miss. You could spend a lot of time in this area, so keep an eye on your watch for the next Playhouse Disney show. Try to get in the line about ten minutes early. The theater is pretty big, and since you sit on the floor, most of the views are great. Remember, you can always go back to the Animation attraction area after the show. If you really want to see the Animation movie, then you can get in the line after Playhouse Disney Live. I like the movie, but if you are pressed for time, it is one of those things you can miss.
