Anyone had Grandparents who live in Florida have trouble taking out of state Grandkids with the Play 3 Days Tickets? Trying to plan which tickets to purchase. Thanks!

With this posters question?Hope some one can help with some information.TIA:goodvibes :thumbsup2 Danny

technically, if the kids are not FL residents, you need to purchase regular tickets.

We had to show FL residency proof when purchasing Play 3 Days tickets. Was not asked to show proof of residency when entering parks using the tickets, but it could be required at any time.

I am asking because I read on Mousesavers:

"The only exception is small children -- since Disney can't reasonably require them to show residency through an ID, it's technically possible for Florida residents to buy Florida resident passes for non-resident kids. For instance, if Grandma and Grandpa live in Florida, they could accompany their grandkids who live outside Florida to Walt Disney World, and buy the kids Florida resident passes."

Just don't want to do anything "illegal" or have trouble with tickets. It's not worth it, ya know???

If you are asking can the FL grandparents take the grandkids to WDW using FL 3 day passes? The answer is yes.
If you are asking can grandparents buy kids FL 3day passes that you will use for the kids and grandparents are not going? the answer is no.

Proof of FL residency will need to be shown to activate the tickets. Once thats done the grandparents will not need to be around. The kids do not have to show Proof just the adults. I've never been asked to show proof for any of my kids until they reached the age of 18. (actually I was never asked I would just get their licenses, just seemed easier than asking and answering all the name address and birthday questions.

You can actually buy more days than just 3 days at a FL discount. a 4day $159, 5day $195, 6day $206, and 7 day $208 and its an additional $22.50 to park hop and $25.00 for water parks. The 3 day and 4 day expire 6 months after first use. 5 days and up expire within 14 days. We bought 3 day in Sept and have 1 day of Major theme park and 1 day of water parks left. I am able to upgrade 1 additional day for only $34.00 (because the expiring in 6 months deal). Hope this helps

You didn't say how old the 'grandkids' are......If they are under 18, one of the grandparents can get tix for them. BUT, the grandparent needs to be there with FL ID and purchase the tix. HTH.

Thanks for all of the answers. The kids will be visiting with the grandparents. Just trying to get everything straight before the big "adventure."
