Here’s an idea for everyone out there who uses the Disney Transportation System and wants to make it more exciting (as if riding Disney busses isn’t enough fun!) – make a game out of it! See how creative you can get to go from point a to point b! Challenge someone to use either as many, or as few types of transportation!

Start off by making setting a few ground rules, such as –

  1. Set a time limit, say one hour
  2. Set a limit on how many transfers you must make, say three
  3. Set a no duplicates rule, you can only use each type of transportation once
  4. If you don't set a duplicates rule, set how many times you can use a certain type of transportation
  5. Set a no-walking rule, in other words, you can’t take the bus to the TTC and walk to the Poly
  6. Set a monorail rule – each of the three monorail loops can either be considered as one, two, or three separate forms of transportation
Then, before you leave your room/park/attraction, challenge someone in your group to find a way to your next destination using the ground rules!

For example, let’s say I’m at the Magic Kingdom and my wife challenges me to find a way back to Port Orleans using only three transfers, no duplicates, and only one monorail loop. Here’s one solution –
    1. Take the monorail to the Contemporary
    2. Take the bus to Downtown Disney
    3. Take the boat to Port Orleans
And of course, you will need to put something at stake, like desert, doing the laundry, or making a mug run.

      Have fun!

I've done that, but using my own terms... lol... Whenever I get in a picture taking mood, I just wander around property. In about two hours (including stopping at various areas to take tons of pictures) I did the following:

Started off at the TTC, and took the bus to WL. From WL, I explored the grounds, the pool, and lobby areas. I then took the boat to the MK. At the MK, I took a bunch of pictures of the buses, the dispatch area, and the Monorail. I then decided to go to Old Key West via bus. Once I got to OKW, I took a bunch of pictures of the main Hospitality House area, and hopped the boat to Downtown Disney. From Downtown Disney, I hopped a boat to French Quarter. Wandered around the grounds there, the pool area, the lobby, all the while taking pictures. Made my way out to the Bus area, and caught a bus back to either MK, or Epcot... can't quite remember. From there, I caught the Monorail back to my car. I parked my car a little bit before 4pm, and I was back at my car a little after 6pm.

I do something that is somewhat on the same idea of Tyler's! Most of the time I get dropped off at DTD when my parents are not going to the parks . It is just easier for them to drop me off at DTD and then we set a time to meet back at the Pleasure Island bus depot! (Tyler that is another good spot to find my dad !!!)
I then board what ever is the first bus in or wait until the hotel bus for near where I am going comes in!! I like doing this as I am not set for a time to get to the park and it gives me a chance to check out the Disney hotels (stay off site).

Usually coming back is when I am pressured for time!! Like this past March I was at Epcot and walked over to boardwalk to get the bus to DTD and I only had to wait at Boardwalk 10 minutes for my bus to come but I was also watchning my time as it was 4:30pm and I was meeting them at 5:00pm!! Not a problem I made!!!

Hubby and I have done a couple of variations.
Our favorite is to see how many different types of transportation (bus, various types of watercraft, monorail) we can fit into one day or one journey of getting to a certain point.
Since we both like to brag to each other about how well we know the Disney transportation system, we also sometimes challenge each other on who can get somewhere the most creatively.
