Platinum Palo brunch?

Is 7:30 pm too early for Palo reservation if we want to see the early show?

Depending on the show, it might be a little tight. Maybe push it back to 7:45 to give yourself breathing room. You may also need to dress for Palo before the show.

No we have always enjoyed the MDR experience and my wife is not an adventurous eater. I am, so I am very excited, she is a bit nervous though about what kinds of choices she will have.

We have always done Palo brunch and absolutely love it. In fact it has hooked us on Bourisin spreadable cheese:) (great in mashed potatoes)

Palo adventures????? No way.

It is GREAT Italian food. Now Remy I would consider expensive and adventurous.

People travelling in concierge may have a different experience, but I was told specifically on Saturday on the Magic that the platinum perk could not be used for brunch. Received no other documentation that would lead me to think it could be used for anything but dinner.

Can you weigh in - were you sailing Concierge the times that it was used for brunch?

I was not in concierge, the 1 time I was denied using it for brunch or the multiple times I was allowed to use it. The time I was denied, after we dined the manager made a point to come over and tell us we could not use it for brunch (we hadn't asked or anything, and hadn't even gotten the check yet), which makes me think it was up to his discretion.

Not sure why the Magic would be different but on the Panama Canal cruise 2 weeks ago on the Wonder we did both brunch (first) and then dinner and our brunch was comped. Regular room, not concierge.

I am not sure why either. As dinner and brunch are the same price, you'd think it would not matter.

We were not sailing concierge on the 10/18 Magic, although we did Palo Dinner first that time and used the benefit then. Our Brunch server specifically asked us if we had used the Platinum benefit for Dinner so he could it apply it if we had not. We also did the last Southern Caribbean, and then the B2B repo to PC last year on the Magic. We did Brunch first on both of those cruises and there was never a question about using the Platinum benefit for the Brunch. As most others have stated, it does not cost Disney any more to allow it to be used on Brunch as Brunch and Dinner are the same cost for the guest. The official policy may be Dinner only, and that may be what the concierge team is telling guests, but the policy in the restaurant would seem to be whatever meal you take first, Brunch or Dinner, is what they apply the Platinum benefit to, although I am sure they would apply it to whatever meal the guest wants if the guest specifies when they want to apply it, at the manager's discretion.

My thoughts on the official policy stating "Dinner only" may be related to the fact that they do not offer Brunch on every cruise. If they stated "Brunch or Dinner" then guests on a cruise without a Brunch may have questions about how to use it on a Brunch. I believe the official policy "on the ship" used to state on the printed material delivered to the stateroom that the benefit can be used for "One Palo Dining Experience" (it may still state this, I didn't really even look at it this time). One example where land-side policy and ship-side policy may not say exactly the same thing. The restaurant staff knows that the Brunch and the Dinner are the same cost per guest, so they apply it for the first meal in the restaurant unless the guest requests otherwise.

Of course, at least one policy states the Platinum benefit "Can be used for Palo Dinner only" so a "Your mileage may vary" disclaimer is required here. Bottom line is most guests have reported no issues using it for Brunch.
