lJust heard that Platinum Members will get $100 resort food and beverage credit.

The welcome gift of fruit and water will be eliminated however...They thought it might be replaced with a small welcome token like perhaps a glass of wine...

$100... I'll take it!!!!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

list the site here that you read it on.

would like to see it

would that be for all the hotels, including HRH once the enhanced program starts?

Yeah, I wonder if it will also apply to non-Orlando resorts like Phila and NY.

I just hope the $100 credit doesn't take the place of other perks. I hope it is genuinely an "addition" as you state in your thread title and not a replacement for say, a suite upgrade.

i'm still waiting for the OP, jerseygal, to list the site where it says this perk

That is what they told me for new changes commencing July 15th!!

Here's hoping!

Why doesn't someone else call one of the Univ hotels to get more info?

Thanks.:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I check in at RPR on July 18th.
So if we don't have more info before then, I'll try and have some scoop. :) But I'm a lowely blue so I sure won't be getting the Platinum gift. :)

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the front-desk-told-me rumors are about as trustworthy as the Disney-bus-driver-told-me rumors.

But, anything is possible. I suppose it would encourage you to spend more at the resort. Personally, I'd rather have $100 knocked off my room rate than $100 credit that I have to spend in the hotel. I'd rather have that than fruit and cheese too. I'm kooky that way.
;)

I know this is part of their Summerfest, and available at RPR and PBH. From their site, not sure if it is permanent:

06/11/2008

NEW YORK (June 11, 2008) - This summer, Loews Hotels introduces Summerfest, a brand-wide promotion that revs up summer fun with special stay credits of up to $100 (good toward dining, spa and even mini-bar raids, depending on the property) as well as special new activities that highlight each destination's uniquely local experiences. From dive in movies poolside to afternoon lemonade in the lobby, poolside pampering, resort sunset ceremonies and value-priced family-style menus showcasing regional cuisine, the Summerfest promotion makes summer travel more memorable and affordable than ever. Offered June 1 - Sept 30, Summerfest is available at all 18 Loews hotels and resorts in the U.S. and Canada.

This is also on their site:

Stay Credits of up to $100 from Coast to Coast

Loews Hotels and resorts offer credits ranging from $50 to $100 on stays of between two and four nights; amount and minimum stay vary by property. Depending on the property, the stay credit can be used toward dining, room service, spa charges and mini-bar. For example, at Loews Coronado Bay, guests who stay four nights receive a $100 stay credit good toward dining in the Market Café, Mistral and RRR's Market, as well as soothing treatments in the Sea Spa.

Guess I'll have to call and find out after the 15th of July and see what is going on. :)

Thanks for posting this info.

It sounds like this is a promo for anybody staying at a Loews for a certain amount of days rather than a platinum upgrade.

I was on the phone with the Universal reservation service yesterday and I asked what the 'changes and/or updates' were. She said that they have not been informed, but that the announcement will be made July 15th. I asked her if it was all members, or just Platinum and she said she had no clue.

I haven't used mine yet. March 2009 will be the first time....so I have no idea if I will be disappointed, happy...or nonchalant since I don't have anything to compare it to.

Regardless....ANYTHING free is allright by me. Nuts, milk, towel, newspaper...he he....I am just thankful if I get anything.

I think I'd be more concerned if this was a 'membership' that you had to pay for. I'd be concerned whether or not I was getting my money's worth, but since it's free.......I'm cool.
