We're going to Beach Club Villas for the first time and was wondering if DVC provides the basic plates, bowls, cups, etc. in the unit? If not, what do folks do - purchase disposable ones? I'd rather not for a 4 day trip. Appreciate your help.
Hi, from what I understand, in all 1,2, 3 bedroom villas there are proper plates, pots, pans, cups glassware, flatware in the kitchen. The only one I can speak for personally is Old Key West. We had everything in the kitchen. Including a hand mixer and juice glasses! I am sure that someone more well versed than I will be along soon to give you a link that will have the list of included items. Have a great trip!
All the resorts have basically the same thing in the kitchens. That's not to say you'll have EVERYTHING you may want or need like home, but the basics are all there.
We actually use the Owners Locker and have the other things in there that we like to have so we can cook the dishes we like.

In a studio at the BCV, you may get only 4 paper plates, 4 paper bowls (small ones), 4 each of plastic knives, forks and spoons, or you may get lucky and get lots more, but you can ask mousekeeping for more of any of those. There should be 2 ceramic mugs and either 2 or 4 glasses (sometimes I've gotten 2, sometimes 4, and I'm not sure how many there should be), and there will be a small dish liquid bottle to wash them with.

PS. I usually pack 2-4 plastic Glad bowls with lids for cereal and for storage of the leftovers we bring home from restaurants!

Who do you call if things aren't there? I've read a few reviews where things like saucepans and skillets are missing. We're staying in a 2BR at BCV and plan to cook several nights. Missing cookware could put a dent in those plans.

Just press the housekeeping button on the room phone and they will bring it right up. I always check the master list inside the cabinet with what is actually IN the unit. That way I'm not surprised if something is missing while I'm actully trying to cook.

When we went in October, our studio had no knives. The quickest thing for us was that when we looked out the door of our unit, housekeeping was down the hall, so I ran down and asked for knives, which they have me (plastic knives). However, the first time I asked, the mousekeeper looked at me as she didn't seem to understand. It's common where we live to see that look and have to repeat the request in Spanish, which I did. Fortunately, that was met immediately with knives and a smile. So be aware if you run out and ask mousekeeping.
