always buy resort mug but dont like drinking coffee out of plastic mugs would i be allowed to use a china mug in the same way as the resort plastic mug

Don't think so. The whole point of the mugs is to get people to buy them. Why would people buy them if they could use other mugs???

totally agree with you!
OP- You could fill up the plastic mug that you "buy" and then transfer it into a "china" mug if it is that big of a deal..

You could buy regular drinks and then transfer it to their, but you cannot refill any other mug besides the Disney plastic refillable mug.
