plantar fascitis surgery

I am so nervous in September I am having surgery on my feet (plantar fascitis) Has anyone had this done? Give me any input you can on this. I know I will have to be off my feet for atleast 6 weeks.
If I want to get back to Disney my husband said I have to have this done.

Its not bad. I've had it done several times (the little buggers kept growing back). I was not off my feet anywhere near six weeks. For one week I would limit my walking and standing, but I was fairly moblie after that. It was about a week before I could comfortably wear a shoe on that foot again.

You will need to soak you feet in the morning and evening in warm water, then gently clean the places where the warts were, apply neosporin and bandage them. This time comsuming, but not painful.

The only painful part for me was the injection in the bottom of the foot just before the surgery to numb my foot. That HURT. After the surgery, the pain was easily managed with Advil or Tylenol.

My question would be, have you tried every alternative first? I had heel pain about 6 years ago, limped every morning, then was fitted for orthotics that I wore every day for over a year. After just the first 2 weeks, my pain was almost gone, and within a month was fine as long as I wore the orthotics. After that I wore them only when walking for exercise, or at WDW where you're on your feet all day. I know some do require surgery, and hope you feel better soon.

I also have this condition, and I now wear heel cups in my shoes. They are by aerosoles. I've been using them for a year now, and I have virtually no pain in my heels anymore.

I haven't had it done, but I worked with a guy that had it done. He said it did a LOT of good.

I've got some symptoms of it on my foot (been hobbling for over a month now on it).

I had this surgery about 4 years ago. I had tried everything but the orthodic device, but nothing was working - cortisone shots, meds, exercises, etc.

They gave me a local and did it in the doctor's office. (Personally, I would have preferred to be knocked out, but I'm a big wimp!! You might want to ask them to give you a Valium before if you are uptight about things like this.)

I had it done in late July and was planning a trip to Disney in September. The doctor promised me that I'd be fine within a month. I wouldn't say that one month was exactly accurate, but I was able to go to Disney. I hobbled around and iced my foot at night, but I got along fine.

I was on crutches the first week and kept my foot elevated at work. (I was back to work within 3 days.)

My foot actually took a good 6 months to heal, but am I ever glad that I had the surgery. Getting up in the morning and putting my foot on the floor was always the worst part of my day before I had the surgery. Now I can hop out of bed and can walk miles. I do have some scar tissue where the incision is, but my doctor said this is rare. (Apparently I'm only the 2nd person he's ever seen this happen to.) The scar tissue doesn't bother me though.
