In August of 2001 someone dug these plants up from their yard for me. She didn't know the plant's name. They get a yellow flower which was blooming in August. Last year it did so-so. This year seems to be doing a little better. No buds just yet. Can anyone help me here? <IMG width= "300" SRC="http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid64/p0d9336982469f8849f3a3b9f6e98f3d7/fbff8d01.jpg">

P.S. - I uploaded images to the computer to share - this takes forever. But only had time to actually post just this one photo. Hope to post more in the following day/s.

What do we get if we figure out what it is? Gardening tools, a handsome garden helper for a year? ;)

What kind of yellow flower did it have, Tulirose? Daisy-like, cup-shaped.......

:)

If it's a yellow , daisy like flower it may be a heliopsis.

Hi Guys! Hope everyone is enjoying this great summer that finally arrived (even though we skipped Spring!)

Anyway, I discovered the macro lens on my camera and took a picture of my mystery plant when it was blooming. I had figured Amid was right and that it was a heliopsis plant.....until it bloomed, that is. Now I have no clue at all.

Does this look familiar to anyone? TIA :

Again, hope you guys are all out in your gardens enjoying! Gotta try and catch up with some of these postings....

UREKA!!! You got it!!! That's it!! Thank you!!!

Now to read up about it.

I showed your pix to DH and he said, that looks like something you have! So then I showed him the picture I posted and he agrees too!!!

Now he is making a crack about different species. Kinda joke between us. He sees flowers blooming and asks, how come yours isn't blooming too. For instance at church he says, "look at those black-eye-Susans blooming, how come ours aren't blooming yet" and I tell him we have a different species of the plant. He doesn't believe me. He says I'm pulling his leg. He thinks we have retarded plants!

LOL!

Tuli isn't the Dis wonderful, with very plant knowledgeable. Sorcerormickey sure knows her plants.

I have a light pink evening primrose with dark veins. Mine has already bloomed, it's a beautiful plant when in bloom, my only complaint is it can be a very aggressive plant sending shoots out everywhere. I try to keep it contained to the one spot that it planted at. This means regular digging around the plant to prevent it from overtaking the area.

I have taken a picture of it, I have some 50 pictures I've taken of the yard and the flowers. I think it time to learn how to download and post them.

These guys spread like mad via underground runners....so you may wake up one morning and be overwhelmed!

I do love them, though.....so cheerful!
