Plans?! What Plans?!?! An Oct 2012 TR. 11/17 - Final Update!

I'm here! Fabulous start; I love that you were able to surprise your husband. :goodvibes

Biergarten looks so fun!! I might have to add it to our ADRs for next year! Awesome pic of your hubby standing next to the Festival Center props:).

Reading your report is making me excited for my trip next year when I will, hopefully, be celebrating finishing RN school:yay:. I look forward to hearing more about your awesome trip!

HELLO! My goodness, I have been subscribed to this thread for a couple of days now and I just kept forgetting to comment! Shame on me. I'm here! :woohoo:

So happy to read your Biergarten review. We had to cancel ours because it was pouring down rain and we were too wet and cold to head back that way to eat. I was most bummed about it :(

Oh that is a bummer of a reason to have to cancel! I guess there is always "next time!" I do have more details of our meal in my Dining Review if you are interested.

Yay! Joining in your trip report Paula! Can't wait to read more about your trip.

Welcome! More details coming soon!

Disney beds seem to go either way with their level of comfort - I'm glad to hear that they were able to help...or at least try to...hopefully their solution worked!!

We've never been to Biergarten, but it sounds like a lot of fun!

BOTH of our beds were the same. I do not sleep on a fancy mattress where I am living so I'm not sure why I couldn't handle the one there!

Biergarten is fun! Especially if you get some fun tablemates!

Hi Paula! Great start! I haven't been on the DIS much at all since coming back, but I really want to read about your trip- so I'm gonna try to be on here more :)

Hi Joyce!! I need to get over to your TR since I twisted your arm to start it!!

I'm here! Fabulous start; I love that you were able to surprise your husband. :goodvibes

I loved being able to surprise him!!

I was afraid we were going to get in trouble when he went right up there to get the picture lol.

Congrats on finishing nursing school soon. I've been an RN for 4.5years!

HELLO! My goodness, I have been subscribed to this thread for a couple of days now and I just kept forgetting to comment! Shame on me. I'm here! :woohoo:

It just started a few days ago so no shame here!! :welcome:

We had just finished our meal at Biergarten so we had a little time before what I had planned next. We browsed around the shops in Germany...

Oh how I would LOVE to have this!!!
ry%3D400

DH too!!
ry%3D400

We looked at the Crystal store and the Stein Store and then discovered the wine store where we decided to do a wine tasting!

ry%3D400

I will have to find my receipt and see if it says what kind of wine we had cause I have no clue!!

We also purchased a bottle of wine here to take back to our room. They couldn't ship it to the resort as it was alcohol so we would have to pick it up at the front of the park when we left.

Some pictures around Germany...
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

We also stopped into Karamel Kuche so I could dream about what I wanted to get there the next time we were around Germany... Unfortunately we never did get back to Karamel Kuche so I missed out on the snacks I had been dreaming about for years!

We had to stop by the little train village!

ry%3D400

Hubby wasn't excited about the train village this time. He thought that there were more actual trains on it last time and not just commuter looking trains...

So we departed Germany and headed to America! We were hoping to get seats at the Smash Mouth concert! This was the only reason I was happy that the 3D dessert party was only this date instead of the following Friday! It meant we could see Smash Mouth. Smash Mouth is actually a Bay Area, CA band so hubby has seen them MANY times so it was really cool to be able to see them here!

We actually were able to nab pretty good seats!

While waiting for the show to start a lady was coming around selling wine and beer. Hubby wanted some so I dug out my cash to discover 2 Sutter Homes wines was like $15!! Oh well. Lesson learned for next time! We did enjoy the wines though and then it was show time!

And a little video of Smash Mouth!

After the concert we headed out to our first Food & Wine booth. And this is where it went downhill for my DH to enjoy the festival. He had assumed it was like other F&W festivals and that you paid one price and you could enjoy everything as much as you wanted. I'm not sure how he got that idea or how Disney would even be able to do that but he was highly disappointed everything was pay as you go and it really took a lot for me to even convince him we still wanted to enjoy a lot of the offerings!

So our first taste was actually at the Hops & Barley Booth as it was close to the concert venue and it remarkable did not have a long line!

We enjoyed the Pumpkin Mousse with Craisins and Orange Sauce.
ry%3D400

Delicious!! I should have gotten it again!

We also shared a Angry Orchard Hard Cider. I Loved this!!! I am not a beer drinker so this was the only thing at the booth I would drink and discovered I LIKE hard cider A LOT!
ry%3D400

As we continued around we found the drummers outside of Japan.
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

And the Koi pond.
ry%3D400

There are some REALLY big fish in there!

Hubby has been craving sushi but there is very little he can have as he is allergic to most seafood and seaweed. He stopped to ask anyways if they had any he could eat and they really didn't...

Pictures of Japan...

Loving your TR!! I also love your Mickey watch!!:thumbsup2 Where did you get it??

Loving your TR!! I also love your Mickey watch!!:thumbsup2 Where did you get it??

Thank you! I got the watch as a Christmas present! It's actually the first time I had worn it as I usually only wear a watch at work and its digital lol.

We continued around the World Showcase and I believe we took the boat from Morocco to Canada as this is my next picture!

We were just basically wasting time at this point so we went to observe some birds and ducks!

ry%3D400

My DH trying to entice them closer!!
ry%3D400

no he didn't actually have any food!

This one escaped!!
ry%3D400

And then it was finally time to head over to check in for the 3D: Disney Dessert Discovery event!
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

We waited around for awhile as we had checked in a bit early. They passed some drinks through the Sweet Seats line and they were pretty tasty but sweet!

Once inside we were shown to our table. In the Sweet Seats area we had a cheese station and a chocolate station as well as a small bar.

ry%3D400

For the full 3D review you will have to head to my DR but here is just a sampling of what we could have!

ry%3D400

While I was sitting at our table I thought I had seen a familiar face go by... I knew Lauren (Imagineer5) was also going to be attending but was not able to get the Sweet Seats so we were going to keep an eye out for each other.

When it was time for us to go find more goodies I told my husband I thought I had seen someone from the DIS. So we went looking for her and in fact it was her I had seen walking by the Sweet Seats area!

ry%3D400

Her adorable baby was sleeping in the stroller so her and her DH were taking turns to go get items. We stood and chatted for a bit and our DH's talked about how they do not understand our Disney Obsessions. :confused3 After awhile we said goodbye and we went back to our table to have a few more goodies.

At the end of the night part of booking the 3D party is you get special 3D glasses for Illuminations and a special viewing area. I was anxious to get a good spot for viewing of illuminations but DH wanted another drink first lol!! :rotfl2: We were I think the last ones to leave the Festival Center and make our way to the viewing area. We made it there just before it was to start! We actually found Lauren and her DH again so visited with them during the show. We ended up leaving the park with them and got some Photopass Photos before we all left!

We also remembered to pick up our bottle of wine from Package Pick-up!

It was then on a bus to our resort where we called it a night!

I have almost the same watch, but mine is Mickey! Got it in WDW.

Lovely update Paula. The desserts looked so yummy. I am going to have to go check out your other thread I think!

Hey there! I am here to read alllllll about your trip! Great start, your room at CSR looks fab! Hope the new mattress made a difference. Can't wait to read more!

Love the picture of you and Lauren!
The desserts looks pretty yummy... I am hungry!

Too bad that Hunter didn't enjoy time in the parks more! But at least you guys got to enjoy time together!

I'm here and just a little behind!

Great day at Epcot! I also really enjoy Biergarten, and am glad you guys had a great lunch. My DH is a sucker for the giant beer also. :lmao:

Fun that you got to see Smashmouth! When we were local we used to plan our trips around bands we wanted to see, but unfortunately we can't do that anymore. Its nice that your trip coincided with someone you really wanted to see.

Wow, that dessert discovery looks awesome, I'll have to keep it in mind for future F&W adventures.

Looks like a fun time in World Showcase!

The 3D party sounds so cool... all of those desserts look excellent! YUM. :goodvibes

I like the watch but its far bigger than I would normally wear. I think I wore it for a couple days and then gave up. The plastic band with the heat and humidity just didn't go well for me!

We actually did not care for the desserts at all. But yes!! Please join my other thread!! I am only showing tidbits of the food over here! A lot more detail can be found in the other thread!!

:Welcome: I will be sharing on the new mattress shortly!

Lauren is so sweet! and Aria is adorable!

My husband sadly is NOT a Theme park person. I guess that goes for any and all theme parks :confused3 I tried to get him to experience all the other stuff the Disney Parks offer and he enjoyed them but just didn't share the love. The time we had together was great though! I wouldn't trade the trip for one with more park stuff for anything.

The desserts look far better than they tasted!

We actually ended up seeing a few of the concerts. It's funny. When the Eat to the Beat concert list came out I had asked my hubby if he wanted to see any of them. He had said he didn't care. I guess he didn't realize what I was asking or something as he loved going to the Smash Mouth one and the others!

We were pretty disappointed in the Dessert Party. I would not pay for it again sadly.

Looks like a fun time in World Showcase!

Our time in World Showcase was fun!

The desserts looked better than they tasted and were by no means anything special like we expected going into the event.

Today was a planned day off from the parks. Since we were there for 14 days and my DH only had a 10 day PH some days had to be planned as non-park days.

After crashing the night before we awoke having slept much better than the first night. The added egg crate to the bed helped immensely!

In fact we slept a bit later than I had planned!! I had completely forgotten about our 11am ADR at Raglan Road! Which we COULD NOT miss!! This was a highlight of our trip from '09 and I had even gone so far as to e-mail them to make sure we would still be able to get the item we most craved!

So we hurriedly got showered and dressed and were soon out the door heading to the bus stop. We waited for awhile... Then finally the right bus showed up. We were off! Or Not!! This is the bus that picks up at our stop first instead of last so we had to make the trip around the resort first. Now We are off! Nope... Now we need to make a stop at a Water Park first... Eghads! We are going to be late!!

Finally we get to Downtown Disney... but we needed the 2nd bus stop so a few minutes later we are FINALLY getting off the bus! The trek seemed like it took a good 40 minutes!

Finally we were walking to Raglan Road! Or were we?!?! Yeah, I had us walking in the wrong direction!! Thankfully we quickly realized it and turned to go the right way!!

Soon we were checking into Raglan Road! Where we discovered the menu item we wanted was NOT on the menu like I had been assured it would be! :scared1: Now what!! :confused3 Thankfully a management type walked by and we mentioned that I had requested the Goat's Town salad and was assured we would be able to get it via e-mail. He stated that yes, we can get the Goat's Town salad. They had a couple ready in the back! :yay::yay:

So we ordered the Goat's Town as our entree's!

Here it is! The only salad we have ever craved over and over and over again!!
ry%3D400

Was it as good as we had remembered?!?! Tune to my DR later today to find out!!

After our meal at Raglan Road we decided we should walk off a few of our calories and walk to the Marketplace.

First we came across the Lego Store!
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

I can't believe this guy is still there!! I remember him from when I went as a teenager!!
ry%3D400

What they can do with Lego's is so amazing!
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Next we headed to World of Disney to find DH a hat as he had not brought one.

Would this one do?!! :rotfl:
ry%3D400

I think not lol! Cute though!

Apparently we really liked this tile!!
ry%3D400

We browsed a few more shops where DH fell in love! :lovestruc
ry%3D400

After browsing around some more and not buying anything else we headed back to the resort to get ready for our evening of fun! (At least I was hoping it would be much better than the previous night!)

Great updates and pics.

We are the same way about the F&W as your hubby about having to pay. It is annoying.

I might have to go to Biegarten next time. I have not been there in 5 years now.

The dessert party looked so fun and delicious. We were there then too but over by Norway watching.

Looking forward to reading more.

I think I will go check out the dining report.

Hi Paula! I'm finally here and getting caught up after being in Vegas and having family time for the last week or so.

First I have to say that I love your cute "minnie" manicure - so adorable.

What a great surprise for your DH at the Denver airport - I'm glad that worked out perfectly - other than not seeing him with the first pass by the restaurant! I love that you were able to use IM to keep him in the dark.

I need to make it to your DR since I want to see more details on your Raglan Road meal and the dessert party! :)

Your room at Coronado Springs looks very nice.

I'm looking forward to reading about all 14 days!

Ack you were too quick for me!! SOrry it took me so long to get over here! SO FUN to hear about your day before we met up in person!! You guys had QUITE a fun afternoon starting with Biergarten!! HAHAHA you are awesome. We would have had so much fun going around together (though maybe Aria could have stayed with a friend or family member for that occasion). I am going to have ot check out your dining review, I can't wait to hear what you guys enjoyed at the 3D party. I don't think we got any pictures from the Illuminations viewing, but that was so much fun with you guys!! :goodvibes

So funny to hear what your package pick up was, I don't remember you mentioning it was wine, but i do remember you guys were headed to the hot tub right?! That drink Hunter brought out was absolutely horribly BTW~~ :rotfl: but Andrew enjoyed it (GUYS!). Hahahha.

Oh man what a fun night that was. I can't wait to write about it in my TR - and funny enough those PP pics were the ONLY nighttime EPCOT ones that came out great! YAY!
