One month to go and now in serious planning mode. 10 ps's done and these are pretty much the basis of the plan as to where we're gonna be and when.

On the first full day, the idea of going to AK first appeals - we did this on our 2000 trip and it worked well - up with the larks that day, as you are when you're body clock's all out.

DD however wants to go to MGM first - it's not a bad plan - it's a Saturday and EMH day. We could do ToT, RNRC, Muppets and Star Tours then Great Movie Ride and Little Mermaid when the crowds start coming in, then still shoot off to AK. We would probably eat 'brunch' at AK - much prefer Tuskers to anything at MGM. But I expect AK will be heaving mid morning - I suppose we could do less popular attractions like Pocahontas, Flights of Wonder and head over to Conservation station or Rafikis and get all the fasspasses we can. If we did this, we would go to AK on the Monday anyway on EMH.

Sorry for rambling but just wondered what you're thoughts were. Don't fancy going to MK or Epcot on a Saturday (we're going to Epcot Sunday - Princess Storybook breakfast and making more a less a day of it)

AK no longer opens before the other parks, so there is no particular advantage of using your 'anti-jet lag' first morning to visit AK.

I'm just wondering if by the time you've done EE at MGM plus the two attractions you mention which are not open for EE, what the time will be - you may be arriving at Animal Kingdom later than you think and I think it may well have become busy but as you say, you could aim to visit the attractions such as the shows and get Fastpass.

Other than that, as Rob says, AK does not open early any more except for it's EE and so you'd need to be there for 9.00am - perhaps a little earlier just in case they open a little before the official time - and get ahead of the crowds and then hop to another park late morning.

I'm sure you'll have a wonderful first day whatever you decide to do :)

Blast, I'd planned on doing AK on our first day too. I was going to try to get a PS for Breakfastasaurus. How does that work ? Can I get in before the official opening time ?

Sid, I don't think that booking Breakfastasaurus would allow you access to the rest of the park before official opening time.

Shirley, has Early Entry been introduced for AK? Last time I visited it was 9am everyday, and it did not have an EE day.

Sadly the days when AK used to open at 7am seem to be just a distant memory. We once arrived at AK car park at 6.15am due to a mix up with our alarm clock on ouyr first day - now that's an early start!

Rob, does that mean that we can get to the restaurant for, say 08-00, eat and then enter the main park at 09-00 ? At least we wouldn't have to hang around for hours. Do you know how it works ? Do we get through the gates and walk to the restaurant ? I've never had breakfast at a park before.

We had a 8.10 ps for Donald's last summer, got into the park no problem and were escorted to Donald's. By the time we had eaten it was 9.00 a.m. and the park was open. We were able to enjoy everything and we had our breakfast as well!!!!!

Yes, that's my understanding. As minniespal said, you will be escorted from the main gates at AK to the restaurant to enjoy your breakfast, then at opening time you simply leave the restaurant to head to whatever attraction you want. You don't have to leave the park to re-enter.

Rob,

AK was included in EE when it was re-introduced. The days are now:

MK - Sun, Thu
Epcot - Wed
MGM - Tu, Sat
AK - Mon, Fri

Agh, it's not good news. Just realised our next visit will be staying in a villa, so no EE for me! Perhaps it will be best to avoid morning visits on those days...
