Well, we have two trips in the works, and all that's left is to make our PSs...this week for the Sept trip, and Sept for the December trip. So...once you're done planning, how do you pass the time until your trip?!?

Coming to these boards!

Honestly, I read these boards more frequently the closer I get! I end up reading things I never knew and it gives me good ideas for over and above the definite planned things.

For example, I had been thinking about the ways to beat the heat and crowds, then someone posts about that - it is encouraging to see others positive take on this! I had been debating the hayride at FW because I wasn't sure we would want to deal with hay in July - then I read that there isn't hay!

So, no matter what you know already, or what definite plans you have, you can read something new and interesting here!

I also really go through and read the recent trip reports - it is a great way to get even more excited (if that is possible!?).

I had the same problem and I had 130 days to go but everything was done except making PS but I only had 2 to make. BUt now I'm down to less than 60....less than 2 MONTHS:hyper: :hyper:

The time will really fly by before you know it. I have a trip planned for NYC this weekend and when I return I will have less than 50 days. Just take one day at a time...I know its hard because I come on these boards EVERY day and read the UG to WDW EVERY day too thinking I will not make it another 2 months but when I say that it become 1 1/2 months to go and so on. So don't worry.:D

I am constantly coming to the DIS and re-reading my plans, guidebooks, etc!

Also, I am an organization-freak, so I bought cutesy little Pooh folders to put all my confirmations and itineraries in, and a little notebook to carry around with me to log expenses, what we ate, and miscellaneous thoughts about the trip.

One year I went totally nuts and typed out each day's itinerary on a sheet of paper (one sheet per day), and on the backside I made little charts for expenses, dining, etc., and I carried just the one sheet with me each day to the parks.

I also love to watch the WDW planning videos (I must have a zillion of them) and I watch past shows I taped about WDW.

Read the boards and think of all the places ya wanna eat and things ya wanna do and put a countdown on your signature and watch every day. . wait hour !

 Yippe!! I'm not crazy. LuvTigger..... that is sooo me ! I have folders and notes galore. They have to be in Disney themed folders or made in my printmaster program with Disney graphics,LOL

Last time we went to Disney I even made small business card size notes with our PS information for each seperate day, and then I laminated them with clear contact paper!!!!
They were easy to fit into the fanny pack and could be pulled out quickly.

And by the way, what does "DONE PLANNING" mean? I am never finished planning.....I'm either changing something or adding to something, or rereading my guidebooks just in case I missed something .
(Yea, like cover to cover 20 times isn't enough right???)

Disney movie's and watch tape we made of the disneyloop they show on TV in your room 24/7.::yes:: :wave2:

Two things that never really end:

Planning

and

SAVING!!!!!!!

I'll be planning on the plane...

and at the resort...

it will never end...

:wave2: I get on these boards every night just to get my disney fix and try to find out something new.....thanks to these boards, I'll be saving myself and family alot of lost time and effort in trying to do everything we want to and still have time to relax....we can't wait though, seems to be out topic of conversation everyday.

Very cool idea about the business card size laminated PS notes!!! I have business card paper for my printer, and I also have a laminator!!!

(It sounds like I have found a type-A, fanatical Disney-planning soulmate!)

Can I join the club?

My trip isn't until 2008 (maybe 2007) and I'm writing down all the tips I found on these boards. I even have my mousekeeping envelopes made and sealed. Too far ahead, huh?

My DH always says that I'm anal about everything. I love planning and organizing. At home, if he puts the soap back in the wrong place and direction, I have to fix it. That's pretty bad... Now my DD (age 4) is taking after me. My poor hubby...

He says that since I'm planning so far ahead, I'll probably have the weather organized to fit our schedule as well. Wish I had that ability.

I usually go shopping at the Disney store or Disney Store on-line every few weeks. I like to put away little surprises for the kids for the upcoming trip. It satifies my Disney fix as well.

OMG...I am NOT alone, I wouldn't even admit this stuff to my family, they would thinik I was nuts......:teeth:

Hello there,
Planning is part of the fun. I remember when there were still months until our trip and I couldn't wait and was wondering what I was going to do until then. Well, just go on with what is important: job, school, family, and friends. In the meantime, as previous posts have mentioned, frequent the boards and gather information for your trip. You may learn a few tricks of the trade and budget phenomenons (sp?). hehe Good Luck!

Foobs:earsboy:

I cant wait for my trip everything is planned minue my dog problem all I have to do is pack!!!! AHHHHHHH lol

Remember the Disney comercials years back where the kids couldn't sleep because they were too excited that they were going to WDW? That's me every night! I've been to WDW more than 20 times in my lifetime and every time I have a trip planned I get so excited I can't sleep!!!! You'd think it was the first time!!!! To pass the time I read the boards and plan everything to the last detail. :jumping1:

Me too! I have to take a sleeping pill the night before I fly down or I won't sleep a wink! I'm 28 for heaven's sake!

I'm almost affraid that since I've got sooo much time left until my trip, that I'll get "sick of thinking about it" and that will some how ruin the trip. So I've decided to go "cold turkey" and NOT plan or visit this site in Aug. Sept. and Oct. to give myself a little break (plus during these 3 months I'm really busy at work so I won't have much time to surf the net anyway). The only time I'll do anything about the trip is the 1st week of Sept. when I need to make my PS reservations (I've already got the day to day part planned out and have picked the restaurants and times). Then, Nov. 1st, I'll come back and be ready to dive right back in, and I can get last minute updates and ideas, or just read the posts to pass the time until I leave Dec. 3 for Orlando!

I too am in wait mode!

My only suggestion for the advid planner is to plan the next trip. I have already booked my Disney cruise for next June and am anxiously awaiting July 26th, so that I can book my DVC BWV stay after the cruise.

I am a plan-aholic :teeth: !

Hi!

I think I checked out EVERY WDW website there is. I printed out reams of stuff. I sent for every bit of free info I could. I watched the planning DVD numerous times, and went through my 'file' many times. I checked out these forums every day. Yes, my boyfriend laughed at me, and many others think I am completely nuts, but they just can't seem to get it. Oh well. It may be hard to believe but the time after you return is harder than the time leading up to the trip. I just got home but ALL I WANT TO DO IS TO GO BACK!!!
