My family is heading to Universal in the Fall (Oct 30-Nov 4th) I have booked the hotel and ticket package. I am waiting on HHN as we are still on the fence about it. Is there anything else I should be planning. I have been to Universal twice. One time was just Universal/IOA and the other was just one day to see the first part of the Harry Potter world they put in. I remember there wasn't a whole lot of planning needed beyond hotel, tickets, parking, and travel. That was one thing i really enjoyed about it. We did not have to plan fast passes or dining or how to get from park A to Park B the fastest. But now there is more going on in Universal/IOA. Do we need a touring plan? We are staying at Cabana Bay. We need a family suit. So we dont have free FOL passes.
Thanks

You might want to plan dinner reservations for 10/30 and 10/31. I don't believe you generally need dinner reservations at most places, but those will be 2 very busy nights so having them could be a good thing. If you are interested in the Cinematic Spectacular Dining package or a character breakfast, I'd suggest planning that in advance as well. Outside of that, you might want to at least identify your "can't miss" attractions and make a plan to get to those early in the day since you don't have express passes. Only other thing I can possibly think of is for you to order the photo package in advance. In general, Universal requires WAY less planning than Disney so there isn't much more to do in the way of planning. Of course you can always go on various websites and study up on how to get the points on the MIB ride so that you can have bragging rights over your family. You can also learn the hidden song codes for HRRR so you can jam to something that the rest of your family can't find. :-)

Studios will close at 5:00 on the Sunday and Monday nights due to Hhn

Might be good dates to dine at city walk
Use the EE and do the potter sections without large crowds

Attendance coils slack off that week Hhn ends
Should be fine in the parks for Tuesday and Wednesday
Use the SRL if you need to

Have a fantastic time at the darkside!

single rider lines

anyone can use the SRL.
shorter lines and the TM tells you where to sit.
Can not request specific seats/rows when using this line.
