Awww...I've missed you ladies too! Blah, I've had the worst two months imaginable...DBF and I broke up (worst thing that's ever happened to me...) and I've tried to go out and "mingle" but gosh, it's so hard when you really thought you were going to marry the person you were with . The holidays were the worst...just terrible.

Since our breakup, we've been trying to be friends but old feelings resurface I guess. I just don't know what to do....

But enough of the sad stuff! Arelys, congrats! I hope you love Baton Rouge! Fallon, I'm sending you all the pixie dust in the world!

I'll be sure to check in more often, life is too short to be upset! Take care ladies!

Awww yuck. Sorry to hear you have been down, but I've been there and things will turn around when you least expect it!! Just concentrate on YOU right now. I have been listening to the last lecture on audiobook and he says all the time, You hit walls for a reason!!

So I just bought dbf Valentines gift....a trip to a Yankee's game!! He's gonna love it. I bought some nose bleed seats (but it's still Yankee stadium!!!) and a hotel room for one night!! I figure we'll ride into the city that night for a cheap dinner. I love it. It's one month before we leave for Florida too!!

Helllloooo from Baton Rouge!
How have you ladies been?? I've missed the DIS
It is has been such a busy week for me and DBF. We drove for about 13 hours last Sunday and it was the most boring drive ever. It didn't help that I got so sick about 4 hours into the drive that I thought I would have to pull over to throw up. We spent Monday looking at apartments and after getting the run around from our dream apartment (and me almost bursting into tears because of it ), we found a place that would be able to let us move in 2 days later. Tuesday was spent at various car dealers trying to get DBF a car. Wednesday we moved in and Thursday we drove to New Orleans to take DBF's dad to the airport and went shopping for apartment stuff.

The craziness died down on Friday and we've just been unpacking, organizing, and making this place feel like home. Both our mothers have requested millions of pictures once we're settled in, so you guys can probably expect some pictures as well.

I'm starting the hardcore job search today and I'm pretty nervous about finding a job in this economy. I have an interview tomorrow from a job I applied to two weeks ago, so wish me luck! I could really use this job!

Teri - Which marathon are you training for, the full or the half? I'm going to start training within the next week or so once we are settled for the half marathon next year

Maria - I'm so sorry to hear about you and your DBF. Everything happens for a reason though and I hope things are better for you.

Mandy - That sounds like a great Valentine's Day gift. I'm sure he will love it. I hope your trip is going well (or it went well, I'm not sure when you get/got back!)

Well I was just talking to DBF about it.... I would probably only be able to do the half marathon.... I am a runner but not a good one, so I am not sure the marathon would be good for me.... but I want to run for sure....the thing is the money is not refundable.... so if I register now, it holds me to it...I am trying to get DBF to do it.... but we will see

Glad to see you made it safely... now on to unpacking and making your place a home.... can't wait to see pictures.....

DBF is kind of scaring me... he said he already has my V-day gift.... now DBF is a big procrastinator... so not sure what he got me.... but you can be sure I will let you know if it is round and has some kind of clear stone in it...LOL

I called DBF the other day from work to tell him about a contest that a local radio station is having this weekend, something about getting married and they will pay for a reception for 96 people, and DBF said I don't want to get married for money.. and I said so can we get married anyway and he said "you are not supposed to ask that".. so we will see......

We're somewhat settled...I've been majorly slacking on unpacking. We only have the kitchen and 2nd bedroom left to unpack and organize though, so it isn't so bad.

Oh! I forgot to post that I got a job today! I'll be a teller at a bank, which isn't very exciting or interesting, but hey its a job and the money is good. Since I'll have somewhat normal hours I'm hoping to be able to get a part-time or freelance position at a local theater to gain some experience and extra money.

Also, I was talking to DBF yesterday about actually going on a Disney vacation. We've only ever been on day trips and we have never been on a vacation together, so I think its time to fix that. Also, we have never really done anything really spectacular for our anniversary and I think a nice vacation would be perfect. I figured if we both save a bit each month and add in some money from tax returns/birthdays/holidays, we should be all set to go next year in April for our 4 year anniversary. The question now is, do we go on a Disney cruise and do a land and sea package, or do we just do Disney? Any suggestions??

That's fantastic! Glad to hear everything is going well with the baby. I can't remember if you mentioned this, but do you know the sex of the baby? Have you guys discussed names yet?

Yes, I am! I haven't done much as far as decorating goes yet, but I can't wait to. This is kind of our first apartment together, so it is exciting to have a place that is "ours." Even though we lived together in Orlando, I moved into his place and it never felt like it was partly my apartment.
