I'm in the process of trying to do some planning for our September 22-29th trip (am I a weirdo or is this is almost as much fun as the trip itself??). I know I can't book any dining yet until March I think, but I'm getting ready to do a preliminary schedule. I can't get park hours or EMH yet. Is there a place where I can get previous years hours so I can at least have an idea of what time the parks open and close? Also will the Halloween upgrades be done and open on the attractions by that time? Thanks!

Nope, you're not a wierdo. We are going in Feb and my DH and I were talking the other night about when we should take the next trip which will be in 2013. The planning is half the fun for me.

Being a DVC member, we usually start planning 11 months out. Planning is part of the fun, and something to look forward to.

We booked our trip for end of September in January last year. We had to make our ADRs in March. Official park hours won't be released until early March, but they are always subject to change. The first Halloween party is mid-September so all of the Halloween/Fall decorations will be up by then.

My question is why did you start so late? We planning our next trip for Christmas 2012 when we where having dinner at cindrella's castle on our last trip. If you do a search on Dis you should be able to find some pictures of previous schedules. I have Christmas 2011 ones but that wont help you. I believe that they start putting up Halloween decorations in September so theres a good chance that you will see some if not most halloween decorations. Also even though you didnt ask... We went to the Hopp-Dee-Doo dinner show and had a blast. It was our first time there and our going back this Christmas.
Have fun!
:yay:

My daughter moved out to California almost two years ago and the original plan was for me to go out there to visit Disneyland. (I visited once in 2001 when my daughter's bad was in the Rose Parade, but it was a BLUR and very crowded!) When she came to visit at Christmas, we decided to go back to WDW instead. She's almost jaded with DLR now, she's been so many times (It's a half hour from her, how lucky can you get???) and she said WDW is SO much better!! So that's why I'm so LATE with the planning! LOL I guess I'm not so late after all. Hoop-dee-doo sounds fun, we may add that to our to-do list! And we've never been during a themed period so that should be fun too! Thanks all!!:thumbsup2

That should read BAND, not bad. ;)

My first thought was "September 22-29th" this year? I think you need to be a list a year off to be considered. Otherwise I also easily qualify. :goodvibes

LOL. We just got back from a trip in December and I might have already started planning our next trip October 2013.

So no, you're not crazy! :goodvibes

By disboards standards, that's almost a "last minute" trip. :)

You aren't crazy!! We were at Disney for 8 days at the end of Nov/early December last year and already started planning for December 2013! :cool1: Planning is def. half the fun for me!

You're not a weirdo, you're a DIS'ER!!!! :rotfl2: We took our last trip in Sept 2010 and we started planning our June 2013 trip as soon as we got home! (I'll qualify that by saying we were actually supposed to go this year, but we put it off for a year because of the expansion...we all voted to wait until it was open)

Half the fun is in the planning!!! People would think I'm insane because I have a spreadsheet w/ all the times/places we want to make ADR's and which park we're going to be at that day. Thankfully my DH is now hip to the Disney way and thinks it's totally normal now... Before our first trip he thought I was insane to plan this far ahead. After the trip was over, he was like "so we can just use that spreadsheet again and pick new places, right?" :rotfl2: Ahhh, a new Dis'er is born! :rotfl2:

Have fun planning !!! You're getting SUPER CLOSE !!! OH, and you really need to get a countdown ticker!!!!

Definitely not too early!! WE've been planning for a trip as far out as 2 years! We are going mid November this year and I already have my basic itinerary ready to go! :thumbsup2

We are going in Dec. 2012 and the intercot link only has 2011 hours through Oct. Anyone know where I can find Dec. 2011 historical hours? I THOUGHT we were going the week of 12/1 so I wrote everything down for that week in 2011. Now we're going 12/8!

How crazy does it make me since I'm planning 4 trips? Nov/Dec 2012, May/June 2013 (Star Wars Weekend), October 2013 (Food and Wine) and Summer 2014 (2 week long trip!).

Yes, I plan way in advance, get everything set up, dining and tours and the like, so I have all that done, so, get ready, get ready, get ready, now, wait. Thats the hard part. I get all hyped up making all these plans and now I get to wait, and it seems like forever, and its only three more months. I keep asking myself is there anything else that I can do. But no, I've got all my girls quarters and shiny pennys for the pressed penny machines, already decided on the pins I'm taking, I do need to buy a few clothes, but that is it. So, enjoy all the planning and yes it has to be early on most things or you won't get it. My DN is doing BBB and we wanted early so she could go on to the tea party dressed up, but it was already gone. So don't think you are weird cause you plan early, we are talking about Disney here.
