A friend of mine and myself were planning a vacation to WDW with our families in 2008. She has a DH, DD, DS and I have myself and DD. So there would be six of us. Well, last night she called me to let me know she is pregnant and due in Nov. 2007. So no 2008 trip. Niether of us want to do the World with a 13 month old(we were planning on going Nov./Dec. 2008).

Now we are kinda planning a trip in Nov./Dec. 2009 when her youngest would be 2 years old.

I know it is realllly far in advance, but, I am an overplanner. I like getting all of the planning done with so I can enjoy the trip. Any hints on going with a 2 year old? My DD is now 10 so it has been a very long time since I had to deal with a 2 year old.

I've never stayed onsite though. I've always stayed offsite in a place with a kitchen. Are there any onsite hotels with a kitchen/kitchenette?

Tips for a 2 year old, plan for a trip back to the resort in the middle of the day.

Bring an extra set of clothes for spills or spit ups (Our DD Got sick on spaceship earth)

DO NOT FORGET THE WATER PROOF PULL UPS! lol we did

Expect to get only half of the things you wanted done done so that you don't get dissapointed. Life with a toddler is full of unexpected suprises.

Have a quick escape path planned for fireworks shows just incase the baby gets scared.

Always bring snacks and juice. ANd don't forget comforts from home like, favorite blanky and stuffed animal.

Make sure to teach him/her about as many disney characters as you can before the trip so they will really enjoy and understand why there are there and waiting in an hour long line to see a certain character.

Plan time for the baby to get out of the stroller and run off some of his/her frustration and energy in one of the play areas. Ariel's grotto was so wonderful for DD. I don't think we would have made it through the day without our pitstop.

A stroller that reclines! We didn't rent because we still needed a stroller for the airport & hotel. We bought an umbrella just for this purpose - draw back it didn't recline neither one slept well in it. If the tot can nap in the stroller it is a huge plus!

Don't forget the sippy cups - disney does allow them and so do the planes!

Disposable changing pads - Huggies makes them - you won't want to go back to the BCC every diaper.

Swim diapers for the pool if you are going in - or the gift shop sells them.
