Is going for a planning visit only 2 months before the wedding cutting it too close? I wanted to go in January because it is value season but when do the final decisions have to be in?

I'd love to hear about your experiances

Nkkilala, congratulations on your upcoming wedding. How excited you must be.

If you have the sites booked for your ceremony and reception, then you should be able to pull off your planning within two months. The Fairy Tale Weddings folks are professionals who will do whatever they can to help you plan your wedding day. If they think two months is an okay timeframe for planning, then take comfort in that. However, if you disagree, then consider moving your planning session to a different month in order to give yourself some more breathing room. This is your wedding and you should be comfortable planning it.

Since you asked for other folks’ planning experiences with a short timeframe, I will share mine. I had my planning session at the end of July and my vow renewal was held at the end of October (2004). If you do the math, you will see that my planning session was held three months before my vow renewal. For me, it was more than enough time to get everything done.

Background info: My husband & I had an evening ceremony inside the Wedding Pavilion. It was short but sweet, exactly how we wanted it since we are no-fuss people. Our ceremony was followed by a reception that was held inside the Disney-MGM Studios Theme Park. It began with an outdoor handprint ceremony and then moved inside the Great Movie Ride for a progressive dinner party. Our dinner party progressed as follows: drinks in the Gangster Area, dinner in the Western Area, and cake in the Land Of Oz Area. Afterwards, everyone moved outdoors for a dance party beneath the Sorcerer's Hat icon. Our evening ended with a custom "Kiss Goodnight" fireworks display that was set to music (Disney’s Pyrotechnics folks timed the fireworks to the song). Thanks to the hard work of various organizations within Disney, our Fairy Tale Weddings vow renewal was perfect. It was the most magical day of our lives. To read about my Planning Session, click here. I shared lots (and lots) of details regarding the planning of my custom vow renewal.

My vow renewal was a little out of the ordinary, and yet everything was planned within three months. It worked out beautifully for me. However, if you think two months is too short for your planning, do consider moving the date of your planning session to another month.

I hope this helped.
