I found a tour that we like the sound of, starting/ending in Salt Lake City and ending/starting in Denver, CO. In between we would take in Jackson, Yellowstone NP, Cody, Ucross (or thereabouts) and Keystone. So I am just setting out on an exploration of possibilities. I think I need to say we are on a fairly restricted budget.

We like warm weather (not too hot and not too cold!). What time of the year do you think would be best for us to visit?

For anyone with personal knowledge of any of these areas, is there anything we should know or avoid?

I have driven around Florida and Arizona before, so I'm not completely new to driving on the other side of the road etc. But does the trip sound OK for overseas visitors?

We are novices at this, having never been to this part of the States before. Also, I don't know what questions to ask so any additional info, hints and tips would be really appreciated.

Depending on where you go in Colorado or anywhere in the mountains, you need to be aware of altitude sickness and how to take care of it.

I've only been to Colorado out of the places you mentioned and I think that June would be a nice time to visit.

I would recommend June, July or August. Be aware that you could still get snowed on in June especially in the higher elevations.
