I need some help as I am planning a trip with my MIL, FIL, BIL, SIL and 2 nephews and of course my husband, we usually travel to WDW alone. I am trying to find some places that everyone will enjoy for dinner so I need some help on some specifics and would not mind if you also suggested others as well.

1. Chef Mickey's is it better for breakfast or dinner?

2. How is the new Tusker House Character Breakfast?

3. How is O'Hana for breakfast?

We are planning to try for Le Cellier, Coral Reef (my nephew loves tropical fish), Kona for breakfast, O'Hana for sure...

What else can you help me with (PS Nephews are 3 will be 4 and 7)

Love O'Hana Character breakfast. Pluto baked my stuffed Stitch last time I ate there., but that's a long story. The characters are great. Lilo & Stitch, Mickey and I've seen either Minnie or Pluto when eating there.

Haven't done Tusker house but it is getting rave reviews. May try this one in November.

Chef Mickey's - fun character interaction. So-so buffet food for either meal. Not one of my must do character meals.

We loved 'Ohana for breakfast, lots of fun and they bring the food to you! No having to wait in line hoping you don't miss the characters (also MUCH easier with kids).

I'm glad we did Chef Mickey's once (I know for others it is a must do), but it was crazy when we were there. Probably won't do again.

If the boys like Chip and Dale, we also like Garden Grill (dinner) for the great character interaction (and they bring the food to you there too)!

Hope you have a great trip!:goodvibes

Crystal Palace is great for dinner.......the choices were fantastic........also Biergarten has great German selections as well as American Selections and everyone would enjoy the oompa band......

We like WCC and have yet to have a bad meal or experience there.

I will make a suggestion for planning a lot of sit-down meals with so many people. We made ADRs with two set of ILs during one meal and because some of the people in the party decided to change their plans or because they had eaten a late lunch or the kids had snacked a lot for some of our dinners we had people cancelling. It messed up our ADRs and we had to wait longer for a table than I think we would have had to wait had our entire party been there. So we would make ADRs together but put them in the system seperately. That way if one party decided to cancel it didn't affect all of us.

If doing CM's I'd do breakfast - it is a great way to start the day.

Thanks for that tip, I will remember that as this group may just do that...LOL. Chef Mickeys I am leaning toward breakfast...we shall see how all of this works out.

Ok so I was thinking Chef Mickey's Tusker House and O'Hana Character Breakfast and last night someone said the kids only needed to do one of these....I was shocked...can someone help me decide which one. We have not decided where to stay and of course I am not sure where I can get in, we are thinking Jan

Yeah, IL's can do that . The one time I went with my brother's family they blew off 1/2 the reservations I had made. We had to get up too early to go to breakfast, reservations were too restrictive, they just wanted to go with the flow. I guess it was because they had been there, done that. I wanted to experience some of these things with my nieces. My least favorite trip to WDW.

Do your nephews have any character favorites? If so, I would decide by that. If not, although not my personal fav, I think CM should be done once. I always think of it as Disney on steroids (crazy busy), so if you have any lukewarm Disney people in your party, it could be overload for them.

I have read so many really good reviews for the Tusker House breakfast, that we might try that one next year. As I said earlier, personal fav is 'Ohana for me. Good Luck!!!:goodvibes

Well you see, their parents are not Disney Crazy and none of them like to get up early...I am a bit of a Park Commando - so there is nothing been there done that about it for them. I am just afraid they will never get to do these things and their parents do not think Disney is important...

I am trying to make a nice trip for kids and parents both...as well as us, I want to experience this with the kids and as a family. You see we had Mickey and Minnie at our wedding and of course the kids went nuts and the cost of that was completely worth it just to see their faces.

This trip will be hard because like I none of them like to be ready to go until 10 am or so....but I am trying to deal

I have actually never been to Chef Mickeys myself and kind of thought it would be fun to go esp with the kids. Thanks for the tip gatorlday

You might just need a jumbo economy size bottle of valium ;)! I can sympathize, I am the head planner and park commando of the family. I have my immediate family trained though. (We go in summer and with those crowds and heat, my husband has quickly learned to appreciate my obsession:) ) I don't think I would be able to do it with IL's, that's a delicate one!

I tried to help my poor BIL take a trip with his significant other and her daughter. He was all set to go but they didn't want to get up early, didn't see why they had try to follow any plan, etc., etc. He ended up being very frustrated.

I know it's hard, but try not to worry. I'm sure the kids will appreciate anything you do to help make their trip fun! You'll be their hero! Since the parents don't think Disney is important, you will probably end up having to compromise much more than they do. Just try to find a "happy place"...at least you'll be at Disney! Here's pixie dust your way for good luck!!!:wizard:

thanks for all of your advice gatorlady...I will take it and the pixie dust too... Luckily my brother's girlfriend likes wdw a bunch so we have that side pretty well trained LOL! Like you, my husband does the same, for crying outloud, we were married there...

Anyway - the youngest one LOVES Mickey and Minnie and the older thinks Goofy is "Hilarious" that is word for right now...
