I am trying to brainstorm a to do list for my planning trip (in August).

Anyone have any suggestions of things I should take care of while I'm down there (outside of the actually planning session).

I would like to do what I can to make the days before the wedding as low stews as possible.

So far all I can think of is:

Pick up photopass cards for the group
Get personalize Mickey hats
Watch Illuminations for my DP location

Anyone have any other pointers?

Thanks!

We used it as an opportunity to do an engagement photo shoot with our wedding photographers, and I also did a hair and makeup trial with my cosmetologist beforehand so I'd know what my hair and makeup looked like in photos.

We also took lots of reference photos of our venues and checked out the travel routes so we could tell our guests how to get around. :thumbsup2

We are Heading over in September to do the same and one thing we definitely want to try and get it 'We're Celebrating' buttons for our guests for their welcome bag!

I'm also doing a hair and makeup trial then we have planned to have an engagement shoot with our photographer straight after!

Sounds like should start veil/headpiece shopping for a hair trial! :)

Thanks for your help!

Make sure you check out any locations that you may be considering for a rehearsal dinner, welcome brunch, etc. if you are thinking of possibly using somewhere that you've never been. I've never been to Ohanas but I'm going to make sure that we have dinner there when we go for the planning session trip bc we may end up having the rehearsal dinner there after hearing great things from people about it.

Also, if there's any additional things that you are thinking of doing for the wedding: walking up a certain path, going to a specific set of areas for pics, etc. maybe you should actually do the walk and see how it feels.

Oh and if you are buying any gifts for the bridal party from the parks you may as well do it then too.

That's all that I've thought of, other than the hair and makeup trial.

Our PS is on Friday and I feel like I'm forgetting a million things I should have or do.

(It's always so cool to see another Juliann(e)!)

I would ask to see, in person, the back up locations in case of inclement weather. (unless you are getting married indoors!) I asked every single venue we were considering this question and was shocked at some of the locations that were deemed acceptable. One local hotel thought that the center of a basement resteraunt was an acceptable location in case of rain. They said they could just shove the tables over to one side. Pretty. lol.

Check out your ceremony spot at the time of day you plan to be there to see traffic, light etc.

Meet your vendors. Taste cake. Hair & makeup trial.

For what it's worth, the planning session ate half a day. It was so much fun and we got so much accomplished during our time with our planner but seriously, we didn't wrap up until close to 1 pm.

If there any items you want to add to an oot bag or have for your wedding that can only be purchased in park I would snag it now. If your going to do park bridal photo shoot make a list of specific locations that you'd maybe want. If your planning a meet and greet scout out your location (something I failed to do). If you have a theme in mind that relates to anything in park or resort take pictures.

Thats all I can think of. Have fun =)
