Hello,

I want to proposal to my girlfriend of over 7 years at epcot sometime in mid to late January of next year.

The question is, where in the park would be a good idea?

I figured epcot would be a good idea because it is our favorite of all the Disney parks. Also, this will be the the last visit to a disney park we make for a long while because we are moving to Chicago late next year. We were both born and raised in Florida and have been to all the Florida theme parks countless times over our lives.

Anyway, where in the park would be a good idea to propose?

Last, keep in mind that we are poor graduate students... so i really can't spend a lot of cash..

your help will be greatly appreciated...

i probably won't respond to replies because i will be away for the thanksgiving holiday.. i hope to see some interesting replies when i check back in a day or two.

I just realized the grammar error in my thread title.. hehe sorry about that... i'm doing this behind her back literally.. GOTTA GO!!! hahhah.. she can't see this post...

Well, it will of course depend a lot on your own personalities and what you love about the parks, but...

1. If you did the Behind the Seeds tour in at the Land it's only $14.00 per person and, if you time the proposal just as one of the Living With The Land boats goes by, you'll become part of the show!

2. As for locations that don't require additional payment: there's the really cute little rose garden behind the tea shop in the United Kingdom, the fountain or the gondolas of Italy, the lovely little path behind Kaki Gori in Japan with all the water features, or even the rotunda of the American Adventure before the beginning of the show.

3. Restaurants at Disney are really great with proposals too. Popular locations are the Coral Reef (where you can also get a customized menus and possibly a diver to do the proposing for you), the atmostphere at the San Angel Inn is excellent (especially if you can get a seat near the river), I'm sure the Princesses would make a huge fuss over her if you went to Akershus, and if you feel like splurging (even on a grad student's budget, which I understand ;) ) Bistro de Paris is supposed to be lovely and romantic to boot.

I hope these helped! Enjoy your trip!  :bride: :cheer2: :cloud9: :woohoo:

I think it would be really cute to propose by the Eifel Tower in France. You could also make reservations at a nice restraunt afterwards. Make sure you tell them that your proposing and I'm sure they will do something special for you. I think that would be a cool story to tell! Good Luck!!!

i vote for the front of the park! spaceship earth has always been one of my faves!!! it IS epcot! it's the first thing you see when you get in and the last when you leave. everytime you see it you'll think of your proposal!

My DBF (now DF) proposed to me in Epcot right under Spaceship Earth. I was totally surprised and caught off guard but it was perfect because I love Spaceship Earth. A lot of people stopped and watched and everyone clapped after I said yes. For us it was perfect.

I think you should go with something thats special to you. Maybe a favorite ride or restaurant. Maybe your favorite spot in the park. Also maybe during Illuminations. Good luck and tell us what you decide! :goodvibes

There is so many beautiful spots at Epcot-do it when it feels right!! I dont think you can go wrong! or pick a spot where maybe you could come back and get married at-that would be special!!

Good luck!:goodvibes

I think during Illuminations would be nice. The music is beautiful and she wouldn't have a clue as it would be dark so you could totally surprise her.
Good luck

I would do it in the UK gardens as previously mentioned, or by one of the fountains in the countries. I think there's one in almost all of them - the good ones that come to mind are Belle's fountain off to the far right in France, and the fountains in Italy! All of the other suggestions are also great. I'd say pick her favorite part of EPCOT and start from that.

OH, and whatever you decide to do, try to grab a photopass photographer and ask for them to take your picuture. Do one pose, then go ahead and get down on one knee - they'll capture the whole thing for you and you'll have priceless memories! :)
