Hi, I am going to start making my plan for Disney this year, I be doing the plan for everyone and will be trying to cover it so everyone is looked after. The reason I be doing it is ah I booked some of the surprises they don’t know about and I am not going to tell them about until they are about to happen ;)

Now I have to build in flexibility to my plan as we have a 19 month in toe so anything could happen, there be a few things we can’t really change so will hope for the best.

How do you guys go about making a plan? Anyone ever post a plan here for advice or is it more personal than that, to be honest I like feedback is someone sees a no you better not do that, that day because this happens and I didn’t think of that ;)

Oh and one thing apart for a few things that start at a certain time, I not one of these nuters that say at 10:10 I doing this at 10:50 I am doing that.. this more a plan to be here that morning all being well and so on ;)

By the way I am really enjoying this forum, considering I paid nothing to ask all these questions I am starting to feel guilty and should now become one of them DIS Sponsors that I see so many of you are. Oh and thanks that no one pointing out my bad grammar and spelling ;)

Hiya :wave2:

Most of us make plans, It is hard to fit stuff in if you don't.

Our plans will range from knowing what parks on what day to having a full itinery with spread sheet (colour optional ;) )

If you pop your plans on the boards we can all make comments on why yes & why no but really know one knows better than you what you and your family want to do and what pace you can go at.

Enjoy the planning, it is half of the fun!

Like most people who post on here I always make a plan and find it so helpful. Like you I don't plan things to the 'nth' degree but put what parks on what days and also ideas for meals and dinner reservations etc. I also make a note on the plan of what times the parades and shows are and I take into account the busy days/quiet days using things like The Brits Guide.

I type mine up using Excel spreadsheet with heading such as Notes/Morning/Afternoon/Evening.

Here's a bit from my one that we're using in a couple of weeks :cheer2:

Saturday - Flight BA No. 2037 Arr 1505
Pick up car
Check in Hotel

Sunday - IOA 9am-5pm US 9pm-7pm HHN at IOA
Breakfast at IHOP/Sizzler
Universal Studios
Dinner at Race Rock

Monday
Island of Adventures

Tuesday
Check out of Hotel
??Final visit to IOA/US
Arrive at Villa
Shopping - Walmart
Meal Out - Golden Corral

That's what my simplified version of a plan is like. I'm sure others do theirs differently but it works for me.

Have fun planning and HTH.

This year is my first 'proper' planning attempt, just because we are going with friends and ages range from 9 to 72 that mean there are certain things some people can't/won't do so I need to make sure that noone has a day of not being able to join in, I haven't detailed too much because things like the 2 water park days will rely so much on the weather and to be honest we'll swap and juggle them about if when we get there the locals tell us tomorrows gonna be extra hot or cold. as long as everyone gets their water park days (Callums priority) 2 half days for shopping (Regs priority) resort hopping day to nose around other hotels (can't think who :rolleyes1 ) and the days when we've got character/dinner show meals booked we'll aim to spend the whole day in that park anyway - I know we can park hop but I can't see the point in breaking your neck to race from MK to Epcot just to get in for dinner when you can spend all tomorrow in Epcot!

I always do a plan but the only 2 days that are written in concrete are the first & last- we always start & finish in MK.You do have to be a bit flexible e.g last year our 2nd day was Ep,the park closed at 4.00 because of Hurricane Jeanne,& there was a curfew imposed for the next 2 days.Fortunately for us we had picked up a deal on a 23 night stay so could rearrange days.We also try to keep from using our flex pass as long as possible (we go for 3 weeks) so that we have more options for our final few days.
Our plan normally starts out basic then I add things as info becomes available ..park hours, dates for MNSSHP,HHN etc......If I could figure out how to attach it I would show you!!
