Every Christmas I like to surprise my family with gifts of things to do. LIke season tickets to Heat games, passes to zoo/ museum, etc. This promotes family bonding and less for me to put away! :thumbsup2

This year, I would like to plan a trip to WDW....without even hubby knowing! I also plan on incorporating a vow renewal ceremony in as well.

Has anyone ever pulled something like this off? We live in FL so its not like I need to get them on a plane or anything like that! Just a 2 hr drive! :moped:

Also, how busy is wdw around Christmas? (I am trying to book the trip for 12/26.)

Am I out of my mind???? Or just the best mom and wife ever!! (just kidding of course!) :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

I am planning a surprise trip for my DD who will be 5. It will be part birthday and Christmas gifts. I hope it works for you and me. I do know after Thanksgiving to just before Christmas the crowds are light. But Christmas week through the New Year, it is very busy. We will be there 12/15 to 12/19 at ASMovies.

Good Luck!

I'm going to join this group to :)

I have pulled off a surprise Disney trip before. My daughter was 6. I made her a shirt and on the back it said, "I'm going to Disney World BUT I don't know it yet...IT'S A SURPRISE."

I did this in the hopes that people at the airport would read it and not say anything about it so as not to ruin the surprise. A couple of people mentioned Mickey Mouse and Orlando but she wasn't paying attention (as usual) We had told her that we were going to Memphis. When we drove through the Magic Kingdom gate she finally speaks up (she didn't say anything about all the Disney billboards along the way) and she says, "I didn't know Memphis had a Disney World.

But she wasn't as happy as I thought she would be. I think maybe she felt cheated out of the excitement that builds up before the trip.

So this Christmas I want to try it differently. I want to pack their suitcases and put a note on top that says, "WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD" and then actually wrap the suitcases as gifts. I was thinking about leaving on Dec 26...so that would give the kids a day to adjust to this new information :)
