Hello, We are still trying to nail down a date that works with everyone, but I wanted to start putting thoughts together. I have a vague idea of what we are looking to have, but no solid plans, and for that matter no clue is it is financially feasible.

1. We would like to get married at SBP. We would love to have candles and rose petals down the aisle. Has anyone done this before? Does anyone have pictures of the site decorated in this manner? Can anyone give me a rough estimate of the cost?

2. For the cake table we were wondering if Disney had lace linen or at the very least do they allow you to change the color of the linen provided. Again pictures would be appreciated.

3. Can anyone recommend a place for a sit done dinner that has amazing fish that will allow for a chicken substitute for a guest that does not eat fish? We will be a group of between 10-15.

4. Lastly, we would like suggestions for a dessert party spot. We need a place with seating and want one with a nice view. We also would love ideas on how we can decorate the spot a little. All suggestions are welcome

I think those are all our questions at this time. I'm loving looking through everyone's PJ and TR they have given me so many ideas. Thanks

As far as I know, Yes you can change it. I haven't ever seen lace, but I wouldn't be surprised if they had it. It may be a bit pricy.

My vote is Fulton's Crab house in DTD. They even have a private room for receptions, or you can order from the regular menu.

Location depends on the number of guests you have. Illuminations DPs in Epcot are most common and the UK locations are the most popular. Generally you can decorate them as much as you're willing to pay for, but colored gel lights are most common. IIRC you're an escape bride, so Italy is out for you, but there are still other options. Sago Cay and the GE marina are your options for Wishes viewing, and much more rarely done is Fantasmic, although Mr. Romance did one there recently and it looked fantastic (his TR is in the competed events thread-I highly recommend checking it out)

Thanks for your response. I've looked over so many pages here my head is spinning.

I guess I first need to clarify I will be going through Disney for our meal because we will most likely be using a Saturday spot and need to make the minimum $7500. I need a place where my group of 10-15 people fall into the minimum-maximum range, and where we will be able to meet food minimums. We are comfortable paying between $100-150pp. for our meal. We prefer a seated dinner over a buffet. And most of all we want seafood.

Regarding the dessert party, I know some of the places have a minimum number of guests required to use the area. Does Disney allow you to pay for those spots without actually having those people? For example, can I pay for a 20 person dessert party and only have 15 attend?

Also, I notice on some PJ/TR that people have groups smaller than mine and have dinners at places where it appears to require 50 people and just pay a small party fee. Perhaps I am misreading this and that is why I'm asking for additional help.

They used to let you but then they stopped it but some people have been able to do it, i'm afraid as with many things with Disney its not always clear and depends who you speak to.

If I'm not mistaken, if you're doing a Disney catered event I believe all the is made in the GF, so you can just choose any menu you want (though, at least for wishes brides, they can attempt to recreate dishes from any Disney restaurant). I'm not sure what locations they have that are that small, but I know KittyMarie's FI proposed during a private dinner at one of the monorail resorts, so there are definitely some options. I don't know what seafood options are avalible, but the grand yacht one is also an option for a dinner or do for a group of that size, and it likely has the best view.

Oh well I guess it's better not to get my hopes up. It just stinks that even though we would be willing to spend the same money we might not be able to.

UK would probably be our first choice for the DP or possibly France or Morocco. We have someone in our party with special needs and therefore none of the standing room only venues are an option. Also I love the boat, but again this is not an option due to balance issues.

I noticed the African Outpost is a smaller option, but I can't find anyone who has done it there. I also can't picture where it is located in Epcot.

As for our meal... I'm clueless. It's really difficulty to figure out. From what I'm beginning to understand (and please correct me if I'm wrong) is that all Disney run events can create anything you can find throughout the parks and resorts, so if this is the case I guess it only matters what venue can fit us.

Exactly. The catering menus are standard. If you want something from someplace else, the kitchen will attempt to re-create it, sometimes more successfully than others. My Canadian Cheddar Cheese soup at our UK party tasted the same as Le Cellier's. But the Jiko white cheddar mac 'n' cheese we had at Tower of Terror tasted like Kraft Dinner!

I think you have a strong case to be allowed to have a small party in a larger venue to accommodate the special needs of your guests. I don't know what dates you are looking at, but I imagine that your likelihood of success increases when the park is less busy as well. That said, I haven't heard of Disney being completely inflexible. Accommodating smaller parties in larger venues in somewhat common. Mr. Romance did it with the Fantasmic show earlier this month, even. Talk to your planner, see what your options are, and go from there. There are some obstacles, but I don't see them as insurmountable. Disney is known for their customer service, and rarely completely inflexible (well in instances such as this, at least), but that doesn't mean that you may not need to go to bat for yourself, so to speak.
