Planning our Wilderness Lodge Adventure! Nov 8-15 ~ We are back!

Nice photo shoot. Henry is of course still adorable.

Thank you. :)

That picture you added to your signature is awesome! His arms up in air like that sort of reminds me of the "No Dancing" signs on the Disney rides!

:rotfl2: I forgot about those signs! DH and I commented on those on almost every ride!

Just thinkin' out loud here... they should really add mickey ears to those signs! How cool would that be?

OOOOO! I know, a t-shirt the "no dancing" people with Mickey ears! I'm going to have to see if I can figure that one out!

Those are EXCELLENT ideas! I want to steal the t-shirt idea! I wonder if the DISigners could do something like that...?

Let me work on it and see what I can come up with! :)

You rock!!!!!!!!!!! I CANNOT WAIT to see the design!!!!!!!!

DH and I are thinking about going camping in Duluth in August. How are the squiters up there? We think they might be non-existent because it's cool by Lake Superior....but then again, this is Minnesota, land of 10,000 lakes and a BILLION mosquitos! ;)

DH mentioned there was a campground in Two Harbors that was right on the lake (the could hear the water from their campsite) that he went to as a kid. Would you happen to have ANY idea what the name of it is?

We are also thinking we'll camp, but eat out. :rotfl: Maybe do one or two meals 'camp style', but we don't want to bother with bringing too much food and dealing with all that. I haven't been to Duluth in a loooooooong time, so I might be coming to you for some advice, if this trip works out!

I'd love to help you out if you need it! Does your DH know if it was a State Park that he stayed at? Gooseberry Falls is just north of Two Harbors. It's the most popular park on the North Shore.

If you're looking for a place close to Duluth there's also Jay Cooke, which is 15 minutes south of Duluth (by Cloquet/Carlton). It's beautiful, close to Duluth, and sort of a hidden gem. People usually by-pass it to go up the shore and once they stop, they kick themselves for passing it by all those past trips.

I used to work for the State Parks - actually still do on occasion to fill in the schedule - let me know if you need any help! I can be your Duluth area-camping-go-to person! :)

Okay, here's what I whipped up tonight. There's gotta be something clever to write on it, but my brain is spent for the evening. Ideas anyone??

As I noted on your PTR, I LOVE IT, it's so awesome!!! :lmao: I wish my brain was functioning-I'm so tired this morning, can hardly form a sentence...I'll try to brainstorm today during work-but I'm so not a creative/crafty person, so no guarentees! Hopefully someone here will think of something...

07-20-2008 - A $300 Oopsie that makes DH very happy

The other day

IMG_5765Small.jpg

were shopping at

target.gif

and

IMG_5504Small-1.jpg

was being cute. (When is he ever not cute?! But I digress...)

I usually have the

camera.jpg

in the

diaperbag.jpg

(you see that little front pocket? Perfect location.)

But this particular day I didn't...(or so I thought....). And I was bummed because

IMG_5504Small-1.jpg

was doing funny things.

Then
IMG_5504Small-1.jpg

got tired.

And whiney.

And fussy.

We were still at

target.gif

shopping, so I was trying to entertain

IMG_5504Small-1.jpg

but he very much wanted out of his

albee-baby_1993_50574627.gif

So, I would push him fast, then slow, spin him in circles and he would giggle. It was fun.

Now get this...it's important. I was wearing the

diaperbag.jpg

and spun around, bent down very quickly to give a big grin to
IMG_5504Small-1.jpg

and what comes flyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyying out of that front little pocket of the

diaperbag.jpg

????

You guessed it! The

camera.jpg

Smashed right into the floor. I quickly picked it up and turn it on....

"E18" reads the display.

:headache:

I call DH over.

He examines.

Yup, it's broken.

He is silently cheering inside, as he wanted a new one and this is a perfect excuse.

So much so, I told him later I didn't even feel compelled to apologize full-well knowing he was glad it broke!!

Thus my $300 oopsie.

So, DH has homework.
Find us a new camera.

But I must approve before purchase is made. ::yes::

I really want a DSLR for faaaaaabulous Disney pictures for the TR!!! (and memories of course)
DH wants a point and shoot for ease.

(I think we are gonna get BOTH!!!!!!!! :woohoo: )

I'll keep ya posted....

(sorry for the GI-normous camera pic!)

What a great picture story!! :rotfl2:

And ??congratulations?? on breaking the camera so you could get a new one!

New camera for your trip - cool! :thumbsup2 I used our trip in December as an excuse to upgrade us to a digital video camera. Well worth it!

I don't know what to say. Congratulations? Haha.

Great storytelling.:thumbsup2

Sorry about the camera?

:rotfl: Ya, I guess I'll take it as a 'Congrats'! :rotfl: Thank you for the compliments on the story. :goodvibes And CJsMom, yes, digital video cameras are awesome, aren't they?! We love ours as well. DH had a professional grade video camera that he used for his old business, but was much too bulkly for family films-so we sold it and bought a digital hard drive video camera, I just love it! We'll probably bring it to Disney with us, so maybe I'll have some video to share along with our pictures.

We decided on the Canon Rebel XSI (DSLR),

canon_eos_rebel_xsi.jpg

and it arrives tomorrow! :woohoo: DH is going to work from home tomorrow so we are sure not to miss the FedEx guy. I'll be sure to post a couple pics, hopefully tomorrow night.

We have also decided on our t-shirts, I'm not buying off Disneyshopping.com or Zazzle yet because DH and I are still loosing weight :yay:  so we might be a different size as we get closer to November. However, I will soon share with ya'll what we decided on.

Congrats on losing weight and wishing you good luck as you strive to meet your goals....:thumbsup2

Thank you Jordan! It's REALLY nice to be back in pre-prego clothes and have them loose fitting on me. My goal is to be at my goal by Disney. Then I will pig out on the DDP and probably gain about 10 pounds from all the desserts. :rotfl: Which is soooooooo worth the work it will take to take the pounds off again!

The new camera came today and we love it! We also made a grocery run this evening and picked up some bananas, they had Mickey and Pluto stickers on them! Here is a fun pic taken with the new camera:

Very Cute!! Our bananas had those stickers earlier this summer and seeing Mickey and the gang brought a smile to my face! They're even cuter when Henry is sporting one!

And congrats on your weight loss! Way to go!:cheer2:
