Planning our next trip

I am already in the process of planning next year's trip and need some input. We are going this year to only the "world" and staying on site, so next year we want to do the other parks in Orlando and the surrounding area. So what I am looking for is any in put on good lodging that is not to expensive but not shabby either. We would be traveling the first week of March and it is only myself and husband, no children. So we would like something that is close to Universal and Seaworld. Also I am looking at the flex tickets, has anyone had any expereice with these? Also do they expire from year to year or are they good like the unused hopper passes. Sorry for so many questions but I didn't know of these boards my first trip and we are finding out that our travel agent did not do us justice, don't want to be stung again! Thanks to all!

If you are going to Universal, I would recommend staying onsite as you get Front of the Line access with your hotel room key. They have beautiful hotels! Plus you can get an Entertainment Book discount with them. The Royal Pacific is the cheapest of the 3, then Hard Rock Hotel, then Portofino Bay being the most expensive.

I would recommend you check out the Universal board that is also on this website.

the 14 day tickets are for that year only - I think they even have to used in that 30 day period????

with the tickets you get free transportation from park to park (or you did) - yes I just read on the ticket - that they would even stop at your hotel.

however I happen to love the HGVC (across the street from SW) - next to Discovery cove.

Renaissance Orlando Resort at Seaworld - not long ago there a post about some really good rates at this hotel. Again you can easily walk to SW.

there is also a Hilton and a Sheraton behind the Renaissance.
