Hello  and welcome to my pre trip report :goodvibes I have a pre trip on the UK boards - but I figure US disers don't get to see it as I doubt they read the UK boards?

Gemma (25 will be 26 by the time we go) - uber planner, disney addict and bridezella

Henry (25 but will be 26 in a couple of weeks!) - secret disney lover, loves anything "themed", reluctant planner

This will be my fourth trip to WDW and Henry's third. We went to WDW for the 1st time together last January staying onsite for the first time at POP and loved it! We got some of the xmas magic and no queues :woohoo: although we did get some frost! We have also been to DLRP together twice.

This is a special trip for us as it will be our wedding planning trip :woohoo: we are planning on getting married in Walt Disney World next December, and honeymooning on the Disney Wonder and one of the deluxe resorts. You can read about all my pre-wedding misadventures here in my planning journal.

Originally we were going to wait until the wedding before we went back to WDW, but as we have never seen our wedding location - and we dont know where to have our evening reception etc we decided we had to go back :thumbsup2

We were going to go for a week - but with the buy 10 get 4 free offer earlier this year (on the disney uk site) it wasnt much more to go for two weeks, and thought we could just spend half days in the parks and the rest lounging by the pool (we did some 12 hour days during our last trip ) We booked up for POP, and then I decided it was boring to stay at the same hotel so upgraded to POFQ....then I started looking wistfully at the new rooms and facilites at CSR-so we have have swapped to a king room at CSR! (We are going to stay at POFQ for the first week of wedding trip with our families instead :thumbsup2).

We will be flying down to London on the 29th September using Flybe (lets our plane doesnt have propellers like this one!

then staying at Yotel in London Gatwick Airport that night These are Japanese style hotel pods that are situated in the airport - so just fall out of bed in the morning and board your flight :lmao:! I know they are really small (even by European hotel room sizes :rotfl: but they are so much fun!

Were flying from London with Virgin Atlantic on the 30th September (9 hour flight urgh!), and were booked to us the ME when we arrive - I have also done all our immigration forms online too.

We have also booked DDP for the first time as we have a few places we want to try for wedding - I am slightly concerned about how much food there will be but its fun planning all the ADRS!

Aims of the trip
  • Visit our wedding location for the first time - Yacht Club Gazebo
  • Try lots of restaurants for our wedding day meal (and a few just for fun too!)
  • Go on Splash Mountain! (I've never been on it - it was closed for rehab last year), and its one of Henry's favourites!
  • Relax! Hit the waterparks, lounge by the pool and play mini golf (I love mini golf even though I'm rubbish at it! Wintersummerland was great last year and we got to play for free due to disney magic!)
  • Go on our favourite rides and see more of the shows
  • Celebrate our 5th anniversary over there!
  • Try MNSSHP for the 1st time

I've also booked our MNSSHP tickets online :cool1: were going to the 6th October party - and the tickets arrived over the weekend via fed ex :goodvibes

(I am assuming we exchange these for wrist bands at the entrance?:confused3)

Now onto the costumes

Henry is going as Peter Pan - I have bought him a cheapo outfit from ebay, it does the job. I think I will get a new hat as its not the best, but the tunic is pretty good and I can't complain for the price I paid

P.s. those of a nervous disposition avoid looking at the photo below.... I am not sure why the man in the photo has forgotton to put any pants on :scared: but needless to say Henry will be wearing shorts when he wears this outfit!:rotfl:

I am going as tinkerbell - I have a really pretty dress from Australia  on ebay (including delivery and with the exchange rate it was half the price of a nice one in the UK or US :thumbsup2). This is just a seller photo as it hasnt arrived yet - I am also going to take the arms off the dress when it arrives :goodvibes

I have also bought two pairs of green glittery shoes to wear - two you ask? Well I got them for 99p each from ebay so I can decide which ones I like when they arrive :thumbsup2

I know I am far too organised for this - but we love fancy dress!!!!

This is the first time on the DDP, were trying all new restaurants (apart from one favourite :) and some of these are possible dining locations for wedding meal (we want to keep it pretty casual :thumbsup2, here are the ones were planning on booking:

The Wave (possible wedding location)
Kona Cafe (possible wedding location)
Grand Floridian Cafe (possible wedding location)
Tutto Italia (possible wedding location)
Sanaa (possible wedding location)

Akerhus princess breakfast
Crystal Palace lunch
Yak and Yeti
Artist Point
Coral Reef
Sci fi Diner
Ohanas (this was our favourite during our last trip - we watched wishes with a lovely table by the window :goodvibes)

Still not sure about of 14th ADR - I had wanted to do Spoodles - but its shutting - and I dont to risk the replacement without reviews? Was thinking maybe the Plaza or Tonys?

Were also going to do T Rex - as its a must for Henry (even though its not on the DDP!)

Hello!! I'm excited to read your pre-trip report. I'll be at Disney World for my first time on some of the same days as you. I'm debating on getting tickets for the trick or treat party as well.

We are staying at All Stars Movies. We'll have three kids in our groups and they LOVE Toy Story. I'm not sure they want to spend the money on MNSSHP but I'm totally going if I can still get tickets.:yay:
