We'll be making our 1st DVC stay iin September which isn't very far away. Though we won't be going "home", we are still VERY excited to be staying DVC for the 1st time.
In preparing for our trip, I have a couple questions regarding park tickets that I'm hoping someone can help me out with.
We're planning on doing the regular MYW park tickets-no hoppers, just plain ol' base tickets for 5 days. Should we wait to get our tickets once we arrive in Disney, or should we purchase them before (either online or at the Disney Store)? Lastly, with DVC, will we have a KTTW card that will work as our room key and park tickets, or will those be seperate? TIA!

i'd get the tickets online through undercovertourist or mapleleaftickets.

you can add them to your room key/KTTW card just like other wdw resort guests.

Yes we will be going in August to SSR:goodvibes

We purchased our tickets through undercovertourist also!

Have a great trip:cool1:

It's been reported that Disney's raised ticket prices the first Sunday in August for the past few years. Current speculation is that prices will go up August 2nd, so I suggest buying your tickets before that date.

We will be making our first DVC trip in December and are planning to purchase an AP next week to save on the cost. In case anyone else is thinking of buying an AP for an upcoming trip, Disney gives you a voucher that is not activated until you pick it up at the park so it's safe to buy in advance.

We just purchased tickets from undercovertourist (you can go to mousesavers.com and sign up for their free monthly newsletter). We are also going in September and decided to go ahead and purchase tickets now because we had heard that the prices are likely to go up in August. We bought 7-day non-exspiring hoppers with the water parks option for 2 adults. We saved $83 from what the prices are through Disney. :thumbsup2

Another one for Mousesavers! Although, if you are buying the AP, then go through the DVC member page

I did check out Undercover Tourist, but I didn't see any options for the tickets that we want, which is just a 5 day base ticket. I did see a 5 day MYW, but it included 2 extra days, which we don't need. And the price for those are the same as if we were to buy them online or at the Disney Store. And we don't need park hoppers or no expiration as we'll be using all of our days when we're there. Any suggestions? Maybe there aren't any discounts on what we're looking for??

Remember if you buy from Undercover tourist- shipping and tax are already included in the price so there is still savings than if you bought from Disney direct, not much, but some for sure.

I asked MS about adding park tickets purchased from a 3rd party to our room keys (to avoid carrying room key AND park tickets around) and I was told that could NOT be done...they have to remain seperate.

I am planning on buying a 10 day non expiry non hopper from undercover tourist...I found them to be the cheapest.

I would take advantage of the DVC AP discount, but we never visit more than once a year...sometimes every other year and when we are there we only use 4 park days. The cost/benefit to the AP is not there for us.
