Planning on visiting the Epcot resorts....

and would like to know what activities are offerred on the Boardwalk.

We are planning on checking the resorts and taking plenty of pictures!!!!, eating at Beaches and Cream(kitchen sink!!!!!), but what else can be done there?

And since we are not visiting any theme parks on that day, how do I get there? I hear you have to make it to DTD, but after that do I take another bus or a boat?

Will it be ok if i take pictures of SAB? I won't swim or anything LOL! I keep hearing abbout it and want to check it out.

Any other specific resort that needs to be seen aside from the Epcot ones? If so what in particular deserves special attention?

I am staying (1st time) at the BWI the week of Aug 7., but if you have not been to AKL I highly recommend this resort. The resort is beautiful, watching the animals is fascinating, the food, pool,I could go on and on.

The easiest way to reach the EPCOT Resorts during the day would be to take a bus from your resort to MGM then take the boat back over to the resorts, just remember what time MGM closes that day so you can catch a bus back to your resort. The DTD bus route is the only option after park closing. You could also catch a bus from either AK or MK to any of the EPCOT Resorts.

The above poster said exactly as I was going to say as far as how to get to the Epcot resorts without going into any parks. Once you bus over to MGM, you could even walk to the boardwalk area/Epcot resorts. It is about a 15-20 minute walk.

Beware that once you get a taste of the Epcot area, it will be difficult to stay in any other area of WDW! I used to be a sucker for the MK resorts until I stayed at Beach Club.

You can rent surrey bikes while at the boardwalk. There is the ESPN Club if any of your group enjoys sports. There are some dance clubs, shops, bakeries, restaurants.

The same thing happened to us, now we stay over at BWV for our food & wine trips, alternate our vacations between MK Resort and EPCOT Resorts.

We went over to the BW last week while we were down there. I would recommend going at night. They had a magician on the Boardwalk that night that made my DW cry with laughter. He did a really good job. Plus, that is when all the lights are on and it is so beautiful.

I don't know how many are in your party but we also went to Beaches N Cream last week to do the Kitchen Sink. We saw another party get one and it fed a party of 6 and we only had 3. Plus, it is going to cost you $21.99 +tax. It is a monster of a sundae. Instead, we got a couple of other ice cream choices including the Mickey Mouse sundae. (Basic but very good.) Plus, at the Beach Club, they do have a very good character breakfast with everyone dressed up in a beach theme. ( I still say the one at Chef Mickey's is the best for breakfast that I have done and I loved the lunch we did at the Land.)


We stayed at the Swan several years ago and thought the view was outstanding, the hotel looked fantastic, but the rooms were just average. For how much they wanted for the rooms, I was disappointed.

When you visit the Boardwalk be sure to do it at night. There's nothing going on during the daytime. The shops and restaurants are open, but the stuff on the boardwalk happens in the evenings.
I also recommend seeing the AKL...be sure to walk all over outside. The first time we went we missed half of it, just from ignorance!

I would def recommend skipping it in the daytime, there isn't anything special going on other than lots of people busting to the parks. If you have the whole day, you could spend the day at DTD, have lunch there at Earl, swim at your hotel, then come to the Boardwalk for dinner and evening fun. We have rented the surrey bikes (they are much harder than you think!), done the street cart things (years ago they had a thing where you could dip your hand in wax to make a sculpture - but we packed mine in a suitcase that sat in the back of the rental and it melted to where the middle finger was sticking up, so it made an even better souviener!!!)

I have not stayed at YC, but had dinner at Yachtsman last trip and it overlooks part of Stormalong. I'm not sure if you can see anymore of that without entering, but you can walk towards the Yacht Club Galley and Yachtsman to see part of it.
