and getting annual passes because I feel the on-site hotel prices have now gone crazy for the quality you get. If we do book here can we still pay to eat breakfast at an on-site hotel (DH) or is not allowed when you're staying off-site?

yes, you can :). At the DLH its currently around 14 euros per adult, 6 euros per child, and you get AP discount too.

Thanks! That's great news!

Anyone have an idea of full price adult & children breakfast costs at the Disneyland Hotel?

Also...can anyone tell me what time the shuttle buses start running in the am from the off-site hotels?

Oh Ignore my first question in my post above this... Elaine has answered it for me already - Thanks Elaine :thumbsup2

the shuttle buses run from 6am, every 20 minutes, until around midnight every day from the associated hotels to the parks (ie Explorers, Dream Castle, Magic Circus, and Kyriad hotels).

That's ideal then...so we can still get over to the DH eat breakfast and do EMH - Great news..:yay:

Elaine, Do you have prices for the breakfast at HNY too? I've heard they do pretty similar breakfasts to DH?

Also any other ideas for decent breakfast places....EOS maybe??

Thanks so much for all your info so far - much appreciated.

Carrie_Cat enquired about the HNY breakfast a wee while ago - last I heard it was around 11 euros per adult, 4 or 5 euros per child.

Annettes does a breakfast/brunch menu before 1pm too, as well as EoS, McDs etc in the Village.

To be honest, when we're staying at one of the associated hotels, anything other than Annettes or the DLH seems like too much of a detour to me in the mornings, from getting off the shuttle bus and heading towards the parks :).

that's exactly what we do now - we have APs and we drive over too which keeps costs down as well.

For eurotunnel and offsite hotel for 2 nights works out at approx £200 for 2 of us - means we can go more often! ::yes::

Think i'm going to stick with DH then....can't be bothered with messing about either.

I've been looking at the Explorers for the 5 of us ... for next July staying 6 nights and it's working out at around £850 with discount code applied. That's including breakfast...but not sure what that will be like so i'm thinking of just doing the DH each morning to be on the safe side.
Even eating breakfast on-site every morning at the DH and getting AP's it's still going to work out so much cheaper than staying on-site where we need 2 rooms.

Thanks again for all your info!

to be fair to the Explorers, its no more manic there at breakfast time than it is at the Cheyenne, and the breakfast offerings are better (fresh fruit, individual flavoured and plain yoghurts etc). When we stayed there we'd tray up our breakfast and then take it out of the main restaurant and into the atrium area next door (where the pizza bar and one of the hotel bars are situated). It was always quieter out there than in the main restaurant for breakfast.

I'm looking forward to getting AP's so it will save us on the following trips! It will also give me an excuse to get the hubby there more than once in the year too!

For some strange reason I actually thought breakfast would be more manic and food not as good! Not sure why though......
In that case then I might do a few at the hotel and the rest at DH! :thumbsup2 Thanks!

I haven't had breakfast yet at the HNY but have a good few times at the DLH as stayed there a few times. I have seen photos (and read) about the breakfast at HNY and while it does do a few hot items, I don't think it can be compared to the DLH for the extra 3 euros or whatever it might be.

I read somewhere that you have to get your tea/coffee from a machine at HNY, at DLH it is served to you from a coffee pot (so proper coffee or tea bags etc). There are items like freshly made waffles/pancakes/soft boiled eggs etc at DLH which aren't available within the price at HNY.

In addition, as Elaine says, DLH is practically in the park which is a bonus!

One of the luxuries of staying at the DLH is the breakfast imo. It really is a lovely way to start the day, especially if you get a window seat (but even better if you can just pay and do it without needing to stay! :thumbsup2).

Sounds like you have a great plan :thumbsup2.

Sorry to jump in but we are staying at the kyriad in july so if we wanted to have breakfast in dlh do you just book it the day before?:cloud9:

no, for the DLH breakfast you don't have to book at all, you just go to Inventions restaurant when you want to take breakfast there, and tell the greeter that you are not staying in the hotel, but would like to pay for breakfast :).

I think Elaine is the only one to have done this so far but not sure what time of year it was? She didn't book and I read her say somewhere you don't need to. She did check with the concierge the day before and he said no need.

My only concern with this would be if you went at say after 8 am, then in peak season i.e. summer/christmas, the hotel can be quite full. As a result, breakfast can get a bit busy - although not hectic like some of the other hotels from what I gather. I wonder if you would still get a table if they were struggling to seat their hotel guests if you see what I mean? It's probably a hypothetical question really and one which wouldn't happen but I'm the kind of person that likes to have a reservation so I know I will get in! :rotfl2: If you were going for a very early or late breakfast then I think you'd be fine :goodvibes.

We stayed there last May half-term and the hotel was showing at full capacity when I did a dummy booking the week before but it was still possible for non-residents to purchase breakfast. One day we went did EMH first and had late breakfast about 10am and we didn't have to wait to be seated. The next day we went down about 8:30am and had to wait for about 10 minutes as it was really busy. There was a clear sign at the podium showing the prices for non-residents and it wasn't taken down even though it was busy so I don't think that'll make any difference - they're not going to want to turn €€ away!

Not sure who'd have priority though - one would hope it would be the hotel guests! ;)

We've stayed at the Explorers a few times (as per my signature!) and can't fault it. Ask for an early breakfast (if they still do the timeslots), we used to go down for breakfast between 7-7:30am and it was very quiet and peaceful. If it was a sunny morning they used to open up the terrace outside so you could eat out there. :goodvibes

it was November, press event weekend, and the DLH certainly seemed busy that weekend (lots of lucky families around the hotel with VIP lanyards and clutching commemorative Duffy soft toys :)).

When I enquired at the concierge desk the day before we wanted to eat there, the lovely lady concierge there said "this is the Disneyland Hotel madam, no need to make a reservation for breakfast here".
