Hi! I´m new here, my name is Sabine and I´m from Germany. Don´t know if the thread is in the correct forum, if not please transfer it to the correct place. Our party is my husband (55 years old), my son (24 years old) and I (49 years old) and we are Disney addicted since 1994!

We cancelled our vacation package May this year. We had a reservation at the OKW 2 Bedroom Suite with free dining, upgraded to the Deluxe DP, Memory Maker, Refillable Mug, 14 Days for the price of 7 Ultimate Tickets, 200 $ Giftcard + 100 $ Giftcard from the Star Wars Galaxys Edge Opening Special... It was all payed, the ADR´s were made and the Fastpasses too.

While cancelling I made a new reservation at the GDT Deluxe Suite with Club Level acces April/29/21 and we transferred the money from the first booking to the second. Now we are waiting for a free dining offer with 200 $ Giftcard etc. from Disney Ireland. We are from Germany, so we can book with Disney IE. Hopefully they will roll out this Package again. Next year I´m celebrating my 50th birthday in early May and our son his 25th Birthday one week later. So the 50th birthday in the 50th year of WDW, this sounds not bad at all right - the only solace for us, cancelling our vacation this year...

We have to wait for the cancellation of our flights to get a refund or a voucher. We are otherwise able to change the date of the flight to latest April/30/21 but Lufthansa is telling different statements. One castmember said, the April 30st is the last day to depart, the other castmember said it has to be the arrival date. So fingers crossed, the departure is right, so we can spend both birthdays at WDW if we are allowed to travel to the USA from Europe.... The best resolution for us would be getting the refund or the voucher valid through end of 2021 to be flexible.

We are struggeling to hold the GDT with club level, that would be nice for an early breakfast if we consider to make a trip to Kennedy Space Center or having a day at Typhoon Lagoon without making a reservation at a restaurant. We would like to use the Deluxe DP as much as we can, had many ADR´s at signature Dining Restaurants, we did it 5 years ago at our last vacation at WDW. Getting some snacks while we take a break from the parks, a "free" glas of wine, some snacks and looking at the fireworks from the Chronos Club sounds nice.

Here our ideas:

CSR Tower Deluxe Suite with Club Level acces:
Pro:
- Beautiful view
- Club level makes things very comfortable
- New Resort
- Near to the most parks
- A very nice Main Pool and some other pools
- Easy access to the busses, short walk to the refill station for the mugs
- Different Restaurants on property and a foodcourt

Not so good:
- Queen sleeper sofa bed for our son - don´t know how it looks "folded out" and if it is comfortable for our son and - who knows - maybe a girlfriend with him (he is single at this moment)
- No washer and dryer in the room

OKW 2 Bedroom Suite:
Pro:
- A lot of space
- Washer and dryer in the room
- A separate room for our son with real bed and his own bathroom
- Near to Disney Springs and of course with the boat - nice

Not so good:
- We need a 2 Bedroom Suite because in the 1 Bedroom it is possible, that we´re getting a
room where our son has to go through our master bedroom to get to the toilette....
- Very spacious resort - if we don´t get a room near hospitality house as we request there are long ways to get a refill for the mugs (we don´t use a rental car)
- Longer ways to the parks
- There is no Food Court

SSR 1 or 2 Bedroom Suite:
Pro:
- We love this resort, stayed here 5 years ago
- Walking distance to Disney Springs
- Murphy bed feels like a real bed for our son instead of a queen sleeper sofa - but we had to get a refurbished room....
- Food Court and multiple Stations for the refillable Mug

Not so good:
- Don´t know if we can get a room/refurbished room. I think, that the refurbishment will last longer than expected.

Riviera Resort 1 Bedroom suite:
- New Resort
- Restaurants we would love
- The skyliner - short ways to Epcot and Studios
- Murphy Bed for our son
- Washer and dryer in the room
- Short ways to everything
- Near to the most Parks
- Nice Pool

Not so good:
- The price, think it is too expensive

What do you think, will the prices get cheaper next year or will they price up because of the 50th anniversary? When do you expect the end of the refurbishment of SSR? The best Resort for us is the Riviera Resort but it depends on the price, followed from the SSR if we can get a refurbished room, then the CSR Gran Destino Tower and the OKW.

All I can say is that the GDT is magnificent. Stunningly beautiful, great cast members, very good restaurants and lounges. But...I don't know if Club Level is necessary with the DDP. With DDP, you'll be eating out a good amount and to pay so much extra for Club Level not to take full advantage....??? You could buy your wine and snacks for far less. That's just my opinion and I'm sure if I was traveling to Germany, I'd want to do as much as possible.

Yes this is right , it is a lot of food and money. I didn't asked for a room without Club Level. Only this two rooms are available. When the packages are rolling gut I will ask. Thanks for answering

I think the suites automatically come with CL access? I agree, any DDP is a waste of money with CL.
Have you considered any DVC in Epcot area? WL? Or Kidani?

We considered the WL and Kidani but my husband and son would like to go to SSR (if we are getting a refurbished room but nobody can give us a guarantee), the Old Key West and my preffered Resort would be the Riviera Resort. Does anybody know when the SSR is fully refurbished?
