Just to say hello again, I'm back in planning mode so the questions will begin!

Our last trip was in 2009. Thanks to people on this board we had our cheapest ever flights in July 09 for £349 (continental) -how times and prices have changed!! I lurked last year but couldn't find flights below £750.

Every Florida trip I think will be the last with myself and all 3 sons (now 17,22,24) but they're not daft and so planning is underway-Sept 27th to oct 12th 2013. :yay:

Best prices I see now are £602 with Ba from Edi via Gatwick. Will probably do POR again as free QSDP and we liked the foodcourt there. OKW would have been better for space but read that the food on QSDP there is less good -not quite decided. Trying to find the best rate for RPR club room at universal- I think £50-£60 extra pn above standard room is worth it for the breakfast/drinks/snacks that we get through -our first time for WWOHP so early access will be great.

hi

just booked today at coop travel on the high street ... usually i do moderates but figuring i will be in parks alot well went to the budget staying at disney's all star music with virgin direct to orlando flights from manchester ... 14 nights through thomas cook signature holidays ... for just £1414 from 27 november ... you may want to check thomas cook signature out as they get cheap fares from virgin apparently and so even though its a signature holiday its dead cheap virgin seats.

hope that helps

jason

Thanks Jason,
I did look at some charters with no luck but I'll check again. How many was the £1414 for?

Hi,
Happy Planning!
I just wanted to add that we did the Edinburgh-Gatwick-Tampa route october past and it worked out cheaper than flying into Orlando. Great service and flight. I think we paid about £600 per person but that included 3 weeks car hire. May be worth checking out, also BA you can usually get cheaper if you include car hire rather than just flights. Also we booked through Topcahback and got about £90 cash back so took it down to about 575 each. Very jealous, it was a great time of year to go! Also we are almost neighbours, I am from Stirling x

You know, with the ages of your sons, I would go with OKW as that extra space for 4 adults will make such a difference. Yes, the food court at POR is way better but you will probably be away from the resort most mealtimes anyway.

Have fun with planning!

Thanks for the help.
I am sorely tempted with OKW -I'll need to remind myself about park opening and such to workout whether staying near a good CS is best or not.
Thanks for suggestions re BA flights -I know I can book via quidco but will look at other options.

We have booked the Edinburgh, Orlando flight for the first two weeks in October £606 was the cheapest we could get but we aren't flexible on the dates we leave so doubt we would have got much cheaper.
We did the same flights two years ago and they were fine, shorter wait at gatwick this time so even better.
We also booked old key west, there's nine of us going so it was the only option that was cheap enough on site. Thankfully when we booked we got the normal dining plan rather than just the quick service.
Trying very hard not to plan too much at this stage so not to bore everyone else.

We are planning our holiday which includes 28 Sep - 11 Oct (very similar to yours) for me (25) and dh (31)- halloween AND food festival!!! Happy planning :-)

We have done the edi-gwk-mco route with BA previously but this year found United via Newark to be cheaper. we are going from 18-28Oct and got our flights for £514 each.

we are staying our first 5 nights at POFQ (with free dining) then have rented DVC points to stay at OKW for the next 5

So excited !!!!:cheer2:

Happy planning everyone!

We haven't booked yet but are going to book to go at the end of October 2014, so excited to book and start planning again :goodvibes I even decided to give myself a new ticker! :):)

Yay! I am in no way jealous.....! Haha :)

I hope you enjoy planning again!

The snow made me book LOL!

Flight prices are crazy for this year though! We luckily managed to get a Virgin fare that was the same as what we paid in 2011 so I was happy :)

We are going on the 13th Oct with United from Birmingham, managed to get they for £496 pp, which we were happy with, I've seen them a lot more!!

Happy planning!:cool1:
