I am working with holding points, so I can only plan 60 days out. Unfortunately we had to cancel a vacation, and this may be the only time we can go. Wife is starting a new job, my busy time runs through december at work. So we have Jan/Feb to work with and our points can be used until March.

So - I am going into this with the thoughts that I will be very flexible. I dont care what resort I stay in, would like a 1 bedroom, but can be flexible with that request to.

MLK is on Monday Jan 21st and Presidents Week starts Feb 18th. So, I am thinking anytime after Jan 23rd through the second week of Feb (14 or 15). I dont care about the days when we go, and I assume this is a slow time. Going this route, does it seem possible to those who have done this before. I did use holding pts during the same time last year, and with a little flexibility we did fine.

Wish us luck!

President's Day weekend (2/15) will probably be really busy as there will several large youth groups in attendance as well as people staying @ WDW to attend the 50th anniversary of the Daytona 500. Don't know if that will directly affect DVC accomodations but wanted to give you a heads-up.

Thanks - that is why I was thinking about anytime between Jan 23rd - Feb 14th or so. I figured Presidents week would be huge.

I haven't had to use holding points before, but I think you have a good chance of getting something given your time frame and wilingness to be flexible about the resort. I agree that January through mid-February (excluding the holidays) are relatively slower to sell out than many other times of the year.

One bedrooms usually book more slowly than the studios and 2 bedroom units, so that's also in your favor. You may even have a choice of resorts. :)

Good luck!
