WDW vet, first timer to DLR. We'll be in California for a wedding in mid-September, but we are going to start our trip with a DLR visit, very excited!! We are two adults, no kids and our focus is rides, particularly thrill rides and prioritizing rides that are not exact versions of what we have at WDW, though we have not yet seen Star Wars Land or MMRR, so those are important.

My questions are 1) Is OBB something we should try to do, mostly for shorter ride lines? (We're not so much into meeting the characters or trick or treating or wearing costumes.) 2) Would OBB be enough time to do all the best things at DCA and have that be our ONLY day at DCA if we enter right at 3:00? (We'd do two single park days at DL, plus OBB) 3) The best overall value would be to do three single park days with no park hop (DL, DL, DCA) since single days are $104 for all days we are looking at. Should we stick with that and just skip the OBB party? 4) If we skip OBB, is park hopping worth a total of $216 more just to have that flexibility since we don't know how much time we will want to be in each park? ($216 = total difference for 3-day multiday plus park hop, versus purchasing 3 single days for both of us)

Advice/opinions will be much appreciated!

Do OBB! I'm not a character person either, but I loved OBB. You'll have time for all the best rides, and throw in a few treat trails, the lines move really fast. Make time for the parade and a quick walk through Villian's Grove at the end of the night, though. Both are awesome.

I'll put in a vote for the other choice. We did OBB last year and while it was fun, if we had time to do an additional day for the same price I would do the extra day

That's a tough one. If you had been to DCA before then I'd say for sure do OBB and two days at DL. We did OBB last year and it was fantastic. Lines were very short and even in the compressed time of 3pm to closing we did multiple treat trails, Villains Grove, parade, and a bunch of rides including the normally very long line ones like Guardians twice, Toy Story Midway, Radiator Racers, etc, etc. BUT if treat trails and dressing up aren't that big a deal then I could also see doing a full three days of no-hoppers with a day at DL, one at DCA and then back to DL. Can take the DCA day much more leisurely and for sure do everything you want there. Don't think you can go wrong with either option, although we did have such a good time at OBB last year that we are planning on going again this year.

I've been to OBB twice and had a really great time. I love Halloween and enjoy the atmosphere as well as seeing all the amazing costumes folks wear.

We are not at all into meeting characters so we did treat trails, rides, Villain's Grove, and the parade. There is definitely time for the biggest rides and enjoying the special party elements.

That said, I think it's only worth it if you do enjoy some aspects of the party rather than just going for shorter ride lines. If you do opt for 3 park days instead, it can be helpful to have hoppers so that you can work around the impact on OBB on crowd movement.
