I am planning a March 2005 wedding at the pavilion and the boardwalk resort, with about 100 people! I am so confused about all of this! Its so hard being out of town and planning! hi jamie! i'm also from illinois and planning a disney wedding for february 2006 for 55. i've been working with ftw on this, even though my weddings 23 months out, i have plenty of time to plan and my fiance has time to finish his dvm at graduate school. we're doing a midweek wedding to save on wedding costs, hotel stays and airfare. (we're paying for our 55 guests) so cost isnt to crucial to us, but i like to spend money on the must have's (reception, floral, disney characters, photography) and save on the worthwhile's (wedding events-day at the gf spa & brewery tour at the bw). some of our guests accomodations were using some points at the dvc - beach club villas. we're totally excited and bummed it's so far away! wish you tons of luck, & would love to exchange ideas. tjwojo21

I planned our wedding from Phoenix. We only did one visit, and it was a year prior to our event. It was a tour with then Sales Manager Lynn - she is an EM now. Lynn and then Jan who took over were both wonderful, full of great ideas. For our custom wedding we scheduled a series of phone conferences, never longer than an hour, and we knew a week or two ahead of time what we were going to talk about that day. Both have excellent meeting skills, and we talked about what was on our agenda, discussed options (they both had great ideas of where to cut corners that wouldn't be noticed) and then at the end set up the next meeting and told me what information I would need to look over. By following their plan I got everything arranged and it was exactly what I hoped for.

If I can make one suggestion for planning from far away - make a list of what you are going to review, go over that list, and move on. If other things come up make a note, plan for them later and stick to your agenda. It is by far the easiest way to plan an effective meeting.

Thank you all for your great advice!!

Twojo21, email me at jamie0201@aol.com when you get some free time. With both of us planning from Illinois maybe we can share some ideas and ways to save $$$

thanks
jamie
