Planning for October 2009

Our home resort is BWV and are in the planning stages for a 9 or 10 day stay next October. Couple of questions about my planning.....I am going to book my stay at the BW for the entire stay at the 11 month mark. I am thinking about arriving on the Tuesday AFTER Columbus Day weekend, partly because the airfare will be less but also want to switch to AKL at the 7 month mark and am thinking my possibilities may be greater after the big holiday weekend.I want to book a SV for 3 nights at AKL Kidani Village....Oct 13,14 15 then the remainder at the BW.Now I know all of this is subject to availability etc.....but am thinking since the whole resort will be open and plus with a lot of demand at the BW for Food & Wine festival my chances would be pretty good.Are there any whole week school vacations for any areas in the country that week? Any thoughts on my planning....suggestions???
