Good afternoon!!!

I come needing help from my friends on here who have been over to New York City!!

We are planning a trip for two of us (a lads trip!) to New York City in April next year, but have no idea about the place! :rotfl2:

Ill just fire some questions off, if anyone knows the answers please dont be shy!

Whats the best airport to fly into? Is Newark far from Times Square?

Wheres the best place to stay?? Is it best to stay in the middle or near New Jersey??? Do Virgin still fly there???

How long should we go for?? Has anyone been Atlantic City??? Is it any good???

I could go on and on with these questions, basically any information or trip reports anyone wants to share with me id be very grateful!!

:confused3

I went to NY in 2004 before I knew what holiday planning was but I can help a bit.

I think you can fly into any NY airport and get into the city no problem, the cabs have a set fare so can't rip you off. Just go with the best flights i'd say.

We stayed near Radio City Music Hall and could walk most places from there. The only place we used the subway for was to go down to the world trade centres and Liberty Island.

A friend went to Atlantic City and enjoyed it but i've not been.

I went for a long weekend and did all the major tourist attractions.

I prefered flying into JFK than Newark. Mainly because of the public transport options. We could get the airtrain and subway to Manhattan which saved us money and it is quite quick.. It cost $70 for a taxi from Newark. We stayed in Midtown Manhattan and liked the location.

I've flown into both JFK and Newark, we got a cab to our hotels both times, and was easy enough.

We stayed once in the Millenium United Nations Plaza, very nice hotel, but a little far from the action, we could walk to Grand Central though, and then lots of connections to there, aslo as it was in summer the walk was nice.

We've also stayed at The Plaza hotel which had always been a dream of mine, and that was amazing. We had a stunning view of Central Park and were right by 5th Avenue and could walk to Times Square.

I think when I go back I'll stay in Times Sqaure, it's the perfect location for a short trip and right in the center.

Not been to Atlantic City I'm afraid.

I have stayed in the Skyline & Metropolitan both are midtown, the Metropolitan is slightly better for location but its easy to walk everywhere in NYC.

I have flown into both Newark & JFK but found JFK to be better to get to & from. Its a fixed price of about $55 for a cab.

Would recommend getting the New York city pass as its great value for money

We were in NYC in August - it was amazing. We flew in to JfK and got a cab into Manhattan! It was fixed price at 45 dollars. We stayed at The Muse hotel which is right on Times Square, awesome place to stay, especially at night. Pm me if you want to ask anything specific

I've been to NY a few times and it's been awesome. And yes the taxi rates are set which is pretty cool! Hope to visit this year! :yay:
