Planning for HHN '08 and needs lots of info.

We have decided to book next Oct probably third week 5 nights at HRH. Our group has done US/IOA many times but have not been in several years and we have NEVER done the HHN. So I need alot of advice. It will be our family: ME, DH, DS (18), DS (16), and our 2 DD (3 and 1) who obviously will not be attending the HHN. My brother, wife and their son (7) he also will not be going. We plan on getting in 2 nights for this event this will allow all members of our group who are old enough to attend the event once and some twice. I have read about express passes and special tours. What will allow us to see all houses and shows. Rides are not an issue we will be there 6 days onsite, rides will be done at other times. Any tips, hints from the pros will be greatly appreciated.

Please give the cost if you recommend a special pass or tour and please tell me what it includes. Thanks!!!!!!!!!

The best thing to do at this point is to check the website for this year's information and get a general idea of what next year will be. Universal won't start updating the website until July or August for next year so you have quite a wait.

Definatly get express passes but be selective about when you use them. I saw people useing their express passes when there was only a couple of minuites wait.

If you can afford it do the RIP tour, we did a tour (our 4th) and we saw all 8 houes, rode 3 rides (in a earlier post, I think I posted only 2, -MIB, Jaws, ROM), and saw all four shows. We had front of the line access into all houes no wait, they stopped the line for us, the 5 hour tour inclued 2 15 minutes breaks and a 45 minutes stop for something to eat.

We did RIP too and LOVED it!! Ours was only 4 hours (8 to 12, as it was a night the park was supposed to close at midnight, but they ended it till 1 a.m.). We had a 30 min. break in the middle and saw all of the houses, the Bill & Ted show, and then repeated one house and rode The Mummy. I really felt like we got our money's worth. We arrived at opening so we did two houses on our own plus saw most of Rocky Horror before the tour. After the tour, we returned to three of the houses. One let us in Express with our RIP tour necklace, one said "no" so we skipped it, and one actually put us in the RIP entrance! You can't count on that tho'; it was just a really cool bonus. Next year, we plan to get a Frequent Fear pass, do RIP again for our first visit, and then buy Express Passes for two other nights. We ended up upgrading our tickets to FF after our tour and bought Express for the 30th and 31st.

The waits can be 40 mins WITH the EP depending on the crowds. BUT...if you don't have the Express Pass, you're looking at 120 mins or more. Get the EP...you'll be glad you did.

it depends on the date and peak or non peak night.

i find that the first 2 weekends have less crowds than the rest of the month.

i think the longest i waited on a saturday night with the ep was about 17 minutes tops.

without it you could be looking at over 2 hours on a peak night at the end of the month.



i did the rip tour at the end of my trip. loved it. well worth it.
i give all the credit to the tour guide i had that made it all perfect for the group.
